Hi All, new here.
Anyone know if the cluster for an 06 will work in an 04.
I know the speedo and rpm gauge are on opposite sides.
Can anyone refer me to a link to do the swap or just a yes or no if it will work.

Thanks all

I doubt it will work...the Cluster is driven among other things by the Communication Bus which on the 2004 KJ is a PCI Bus and on the 2006 is mainly a CAN Bus among other Buses.

Wiring probably different too!

I can check the wiring diagrams for you sometime when I am feeling a bit more energetic:gr_grin:

Above the digital odometer (in speedometer) is a cluster model number as well.
Mine as export is a type 33. Finding the same type (model #) and then it has to be programmed as well to work with the PCI bus I believe.

I believe that the 2006 uses a hybrid communication system meaning can bus and bus communication. Can bus is faster, but is not fault talerent. Bus is slow, but is fault tolerant.

OK I have checked out the pinout connections on both type clusters from the wiring diagrams....totally different! Even swapping over the wiring in the connector pins would not help...the clusters function completely differently....will not work!
