Hey everyone,

Finally solved this problem but first my symptoms for anyone who may find themselves troubleshooting this issue too. Started first thing in the morning, little tough but it would get there. Stop for coffee and it wouldn't start. I would disconnect the battery, wait 15 min, reconnect and it would start. Pulled out the battery and it tested good. Cue head scratching and asking everyone and anyone. It was my starter. Likely a coil was shorting causing too high of a current draw for my battery.

Now 1Aauto has a decent video on youtube showing the process and it doesn't look too bad so I started it a week or two ago. Dropping the front drive shaft wasn't bad, took me a while to grab a pipe wrench for holding the shaft while turning bolts. I was also able to disconnect the connectors and remove the heat shield. '02 has something different than that video though, the pre-catalytic converter is completely in the way of removing the starter. I was able to disconnect the v-clamp and ended up cutting off the exhaust bolts to remove the starter.

Anyways, just wanted to put this out there for any other poor soul struggling with this issue and undertakes replacing the starter. Thanks!
