02 and 03 engines the same??

was told by a recycle yard that the 02 has a different cam timeing toner ring. was wondering if any of you guys could confirm this. before i buy an 03 and still have to tear the motor down. thanks for any help.

The '05s and later have a different cam timing and reluctor rings.

More important: The '02 and very early '03 Libertys have the 45RFE trans but the later models use the 42RLE trans. The bellhousings are different so that is the problem with using a later engine in your '02.

Don't know if there is a way to change the bellhousing out from the '02 to later years. Anyone?
