    Changing Radio

Crutchfield has a terrific website that will allow you to select the right head unit and required extra trim piece and wiring harnesses to make your installation seamless. Changed our head unit, speakers, added a subwoofer, and got everything from them in short order.

07 Liberty Stereo (RBK v2) Upgrade

That's a tough one to diagnose without being on site. Do you have the amplified speakers in the doors (amp is on the speakers)? Those would require replacement for this head unit. I upgraded my wife's 2007, ordered everything from Crutchfield, adapters for dash and wiring (adapter made it...

    Speakers

My wife wanted bluetooth so decided to do a full upgrade, including the (4) door speakers (left the dash tweeters installed which run in parallel in the factory wiring). Went to Crutchfield for everything (they make it dirt simple for fitment, parts, cables, etc.)...they include instruction for...

    Hood Insulation Pad 2007

Does anyone know where to purchase a new hood insulation pad for a 2007 Liberty (Mopar 55352746AG), an online search indicates this model is "discontinued" and I'm not locating any OEM parts available.

I cured my cold morning tic tic tic!

Thanks for the experiment because this has been driving me nuts for a few years. I have listened everywhere, concluding it was from the oil pan area, not the engine, and was really tired of having the ticking sound every cold morning...besides making the motor sound like it's about ready to drop...

What did you do to your jeep today?

CRD Yanks Out Dodge 2500 Yesterday...plowing with the Dodge, got stuck in a drift...my buddy showed up with his (already warmed up) CRD...set it Lo 4wd, ZERO wheel spin, pulled the stuck Dodge WITH plow out in a heartbeat. Gotta love it.

    suggestions on a Jump pack?

Nice jump pack...might need to acquire one of those. On another note, a few years back ours would have a dead battery if left for a few days in the cold weather...here I am at the airport parking lot disconnecting the battery terminals just so I wouldn't have to contend with a dead battery...

At crossroads: 130K - keep or sell?

I just looked at your description...a lot of nice mods. Good decision to keep it.

At crossroads: 130K - keep or sell?

Your least expensive vehicle is the one you are driving...the immediate depreciation alone is a deal breaker...unless you absolutely need something different, like a pick-up. Ours has over 130K miles and has had very few problems over the years that would warrant a new vehicle now. Why assume...

    2005 Renegade 2" Rack Rails

Been there, done that...a lot. HD doesn't have it? Then trundle over to Lowe's! Just have to remind myself whenever in browsing mode to not talk to myself in the store and to keep my mouth shut (observe how many guys are looking up with a gaping mouth - hehe). So right tho, in the end it is...

Fixed some roof rust. Will it hold?

You'll be fine...looks like a good fix and should last quite a while. Moisture under the repair is what will cause it to fail prematurely, even if it's just a pinhole, but the paint should seal it off. Also, most decent metal primers have a rust inhibitor. Paint work is terrific for a small...

    2005 Renegade 2" Rack Rails

Nice pick from HD...really excellent fix. The nylon is really strong so no worries about the rack peeling off the roof. BTW, next time you're in HD or Lowe's look at the guys staring at stuff on the aisle wall, they're looking for the right part idea for something they have to...

    gas cap message

Thanks...am thinking on the 2007 it's the module attached to the EVAP canister. So far no GASCAP error msg with the most recent repair.

    gas cap message

Same here...exactly what I did. BTW, where is the Purge Pump located? I'm assuming it's the white plastic assy attached to the EVAP canister that had the failed contact on mine, or is it another component elsewhere in the EVAP system spaghetti?

    gas cap message

Another Update: Despite replacing the Gas Cap and Purge Solenoid - which for some reason worked for a while - the GASCAP error came back with a vengeance. Finally crawled under the back end, removed the EVAP canister (ok, who's idea was it to put this thing back there up above the axle??)...

Help me please identify this tick

i am convinced it's either the pick up or something is oil-starved after drain back. Logic would dictate that if it's a sticky valve the engine would run rough, but it doesn't...runs fine. Here's a thought, what about something the belt runs over, AC compressor?, tightener idler?? Its a mystery...

Help me please identify this tick

"Thoughts." It's annoying is what it is....makes you think the engine's going to self destruct. You wanna take a rubber mallet and beat on the valve cover until it stops ticking.:angry94: Just wait until you get the 'GASCAP' error, that'll drive you equally nuts trying to find the...
