Misfire, My New Constant Companion ;-)
i don't think it unreasonable to expect to have a working vehicle that has been babied, never missed or late on any scheduled maintenence........ We do NO off-roading, never has been on a trip longer than 300 miles or so...... oil changed every 3K miles......... To spend all that we have...- fairmanicmaeve

Misfire, My New Constant Companion ;-)
Back in February, hubs and I put our 04 KJ (79K miles) in the shop after the MIL played tag with us for a month. It would come on for less than 50 miles, and then go off for 300+ miles. The code was P0303. Misfire on #3. $2700 later, new everything (too much on the invoice to list...- fairmanicmaeve

my poor KJ got rear ended
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have it looked at!!! Call his insurance (or even your own and have someone check it over!!!!) I was rear ended in my 04 KJ this past spring. Overheating at Idle/parked, AC involved.....
It was the fan! Purchased a new one, was easy and quick to install and the overheating issues stopped. Thanks for all the advice guys!!- fairmanicmaeve

coolant has been replaced but t-stat has not. The fan appears to work/come on when hubs checked it, but that doesn't mean it's not coming on properly while I'm out and about.- fairmanicmaeve

Check engine came on last week, remained on for less than 10 miles and went off again. We had just filled up and thought that it was a loose gas cap. It did not come on during the overheating or after.- fairmanicmaeve
