Of course one way to check the alt is to jump start the jeep. After it has started disconnect the negative battery term. If it continues to run the alt is good.

a 4 door wrangler. I think they actually have more room in them then the Liberty:)

Just did a 2,200 mile trip. I averaged anywhere between 19-24 mpg in my 07 liberty. I have owned it and since December 3 and already have 9,100 miles on it. At this rate the factory warranty will be expired at the one year mark. Greg

How close are you to Vegas? There is a club called http://www.nevadabackroaders.com/ that run stock friendly trail runs. You can really see some beautiful scenary with these guys. Greg

All the cars I've owned in Japan have the remote power side mirror. It's pretty sweet. When you park in tight parking spots just hit the button and the mirrors come in automotically. Pretty sweet!!!:)

Start Jeep with good battery. Disconnect negative battery wire. If it remains running the alternator is good. If it dies the alternator is bad. The alternator shoudl be putting out 13.3-14.7 volts DC (don't quote me on that)
