length of factory wheel studs / will 1.0" spacers work?
anyone know if 1.0" spacers will work with '04 factory alooy wheels, WITHOUT grinding the tips of the factory studs?
or does anyone know the exposed length of the factory wheel studs?
did the factory ever offer a limited slip diff, locker, or posi in Renegades or any Liberty?
reason I ask is it means we could snag one out of a junkyard if they did.
Baja Ventures
hey, thanks. I don't know the Liberty very well yet, and didn't know upper control arms were vunerable. and I'll look into the Moog units, thanks.
as you know, there is great wheeling ops all over Baja. We've been wanting to visit the campground that takes 4x4 to get to, the one...
Cruisin' Baja
We keep our speeds in reason, because cows and horses wander out on the roads anytime. Plus the ruts, rocks, and whoops make things uncomfortable unless you have long travel suspension.
More concerned about getting stuck, punctures, things that strand you. Would love to run...
We just got an '04 4x4 Liberty Sport V6 auto, stock, has 3.73 gears.
What are the most important mods to do before we start cruising the backroads of Baja?
hey, thanks. that backbone does look good. I've wanted to mount my winch front or back, and the receiver hitch is the practical way.
I think I'm going to try to modify a Reese or the flimsier HiddenHitch for tow points for when we drag the Liberty behind the motorhome
trying to see if anyone has the knowledge, is a front mount hitch a good way to go for a winch mount for a Liberty?
I found this while searching:
http://www.kirkanddonna.com/kirk/2004/08/front-hitch-install.html
guy did a good job detailing this install.
any opinions?
we just installed one of the near top of the line Pioneers, from Circuit City, $450 out the door, installed. Has rotary knob feature that emulates iPod ring, and a fairly decent screen size so you can read playlists, etc.
Threads here seem to say we can get away with 245/70-16's on stock wheels/suspension.
Does anyone know of the TALLEST (not widest) tires we can get away with? Our KJ is 4x4, '04 with factory alloys, came with Wranglers 235/70-16's.
Thanks!
Re poor mileage-what about gearing?
:-({|= everyone here is crying the blues about mileage, and now I am too. We just got an '04 V6 Auto KJ, 57k miles, was well cared for. tag says 3.73 gears, stock 235/70-16 Wranglers at 34 psi.
I've logged 3 partial tanks so far at 11.5, 13.5, and 15.5...
