more pulling power I knew someone would shame me for my aftermarket ag battery. Hey, maybe my JD lawn tractor battery will die when I'm driving past a Jeep dealership. Then my tractor will have great crawling power. Great responses. So far I'm winning. I'll let you in on a secret. Up here...

    longest lasting OEM battery

Wow. How long has your battery lasted? I just got 178K on original battery in my '04 bought in fall of '03. I believe that makes it 9 yrs 6 months. Now replaced with a John Deere battery which happened to be the place where the OEM died. Yup, I live in a farming community.

How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head

Getting closer I think I may have solved the problem myself. It wasn't the pinion bearing I had replaced earlier, it was the seal. I just watched a video on youtube of a guy driving with a bad pinion bearing. It sounds just like the noise I'm hearing. I'm thinking the bearing must be worn out...

How To: Change front driveshaft / change a driveshaft head

Hmmm, any ideas? Got a mystery to solve... I've been noticing the roar for a short time and it was getting hard to have a conversation while driving. Thought it may be due to running on underinflated tires over the winter (oops). Tires needed replacing anyway so got a new set and roar was...

    manual tranny - weak clutch?

I've had the ecu flashed for the engine stumble and that's been completely cured. I've driven manuals all my life and I've yet to see a transmission that wants to kangaroo like my liberty. You've got to be really subtle at the top end of the clutch so it doesn't bounce especially when it's a...

    manual tranny - weak clutch?

I have an '04 KJ with a manual tranny, 3.7l engine. It's my first Jeep. Ever since new it behaves like it has a weak clutch. By this I mean it lags or bounces when you accelerate. It feels like the springs in the clutch are not strong enough for the weight of the vehicle. Vehicle is maintained...

04 3.7 with Standard trans - Drivability TSB

hesitation gone! When I saw this post I was hopeful. Today I'm a believer. Since I got the control module flashed at the dealer, there's no more hesitation when accelerating. I might note that the TSB says hesitation is noticed when aggressively accelerating between shifts. I actually noticed...
