DICK CEPEK 130W BAJA LIGHTS - Anyone use them?

Also, I have the KC Slim-lites. They look just like a factory install, so I've never had them covered and never gotten pulled over. I don't use them on the highway, unless it is a very dark, deserted 2-lane, and if I see a car in the distance I turn them off right away. I have the driving...

DICK CEPEK 130W BAJA LIGHTS - Anyone use them?

From the pictures they look like a pencil beam. Notice a completely clear and un-abberated lens.

    Speedo or GPS ?

Most receivers update their measurements(position, velocity, etc) once every second. Garmin may give you an option to change that, but probably not. Alot of the high-end commercial receivers you can set refresh rates some as high as 1000Hz. Anyways if he is accelerate or deaccelerating he...

    Speedo or GPS ?

GPS is way more accurate. Just a standard receiver should be accurate to about better than .5 mph. Speedometer are notoriously inaccurate, even on new vehicle with a stock setup. Speed is actually calculate off doppler shift of the GPS signal, not change in position.

    spark plugs

Platinum plugs last longer, some up to 100k. But don't leave plugs in an aluminum head for 100k or you will probably be fused to the head. Changing the plugs at 30k even w/ anti-seize they where still pretty darn tight.

Hey my old XJ had blue seats and it was a late 80s model. Plus a baby blue interior. It was the best.

    Locker/Limited Slip advice

The Detriot is stronger for sure. However a little most costly and little more difficult to install. Need to reset the backlash and press on bearings. The power-trax is more than stronger enough for most KJ owners. The 3.7 v6 and 31-32" tires is not really that much of a load. If you...

    245/75-16 with lift question

245/75R16 will rub slightly for most people, nothing that is difficult to fix. If you are really worried about it then go with a 245/70R16. If you want to absolutely guarantee no rubbing then stick with the stock size.

Is it okay to park in 4HI?

The select-trac (nv242) and command-trac (nv231) are different. The nv242 use the shifter to spring load the shift fork so sometimes it will get stuck in 4wd. The shifter in the nv231 connects directly to the shift fork.

    Towing the Liberty

You put the t-case in neutral to tow the KJ, because that way you disconnect the transmission. You don't want the transmission to turn because the oil pump in the transmission is not active when the engine is off. However, the oil pump in the t-case works of rotation of the rear output shaft...

    Clevis Lift Just on Front?

Your gas gauge will be just fine. Its not like you are lifting the Front 3" and not doing anything to a rear, even then it wouldn't make much of a difference if any. A 1/2" difference between the front and rear is just over a 1/4 degree change in the angle the jeep sits at. Believe it or...

HOW TO PERFORM A CLEVIS LIFT

I've never used the spacers either. The conduit nut only work on the Old Man Emu/Rusty's struts. The lip on the stock struts and the Rancho's is not large enough and the conduit nut just slip right over.

Extra Cooling - (Do I need it?)

2 All 2003+ KJs come with an external trans cooler. If you are doing off-road drive at high elevation, especially at low speeds (under 10-15 mph) then use 4-Lo. The gear reduction in the transfer case make it easier on the engine and trans, thus they don't get nearly as hot.

Rusty's front strut are also OME too. He just puts his sticker over the OME part #, but Rusty's Gas Charged Front struts are also OME.

    Looking for a lift kit...

The stock upper-arms will work if the proper extension bumpstops are installed on the Frankenlift. All-J has had some problems with getting them correct in the past, so you might want to check. See this thread http://www.lostkjs.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=12860 Supposedly the problem...

    seat problem

If you are not afraid of a little cutting and welding that it is not hard. Just take about an inch out of the middle of the mounting feet/bracket and weld it back together.
