I went for the gusto and successfully fixed my issue! :) I soldered in a .1Ohm 7Watt resistor as instructed and it works like a charm now! Here is the exact resistor I used: https://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?r=71-CW007R1000JE12 Thanks again! :)
