2005 Liberty 4x4 ... 62k miles. It's basically a spare ride nowadays, I don't drive it very often. However, last week, I had to drive it everyday as I had to do some work on my primary.
Anyway, after being parked again for a day or so, I noticed a drip on the driveway. Looked underneath and I...
2005 Liberty Limited here w/ the "dumb" (or base) TPMS system ...
So I started getting the "Check TPM System" on the EVIC w/ the Tire Light steady on the dash. I figured at 16-yrs old, one (or more) of the sensors took a dump. So, I replaced all five (5) with new DENSO 550-3008 sensors...
I'm on my 2nd Liberty ... both bought at auction (salvage) . The first I repaired & sold off ... never had to change the oil. My current I decided to keep for a while (low mileage) & just finished it up. It's last oil change was in 2019, so I figured it was time.
Man is that oil filter in a...
So I have an early build (7/2004) 2005 model Liberty Limited. The Jeep hasn't been driven much lately; last I took it out I got a warning for low tire pressure at the spare tire. Corrected that & the dash light went off. Drove down the road a bit, then the light came back on the dash & the EVIC...
So I was changing the oil in my front diff today .. found a few things odd. 1) both the fill plug "and" the drain plug were only finger tight, & 2) The drain plug has a "green" (or what was green) o-ring.
This green o-ring is trashed & I need to replace it. Looks like the MOPAR P/N is 5066055AA...
2005 Liberty Limited 4x4 (non-ABS)
So I vacuum flushed my brake fluid yesterday ... I used the 'ole Harbor Freight Pneumatic Vacuum Bleeder. The fluid was dark - Coca-Cola for sure.
Anyway, all went reasonably well. With the engine off, I have a nice firm brake pedal - but, when I crank it up...
I've sold my Liberty; never got around to using these MOAB's. I have 'um on eBay and my local Craigslist - this forum has helped me out with info, so, if any forum member is local & would like the wheels, I'll do my best to make a special deal!

Has anyone ever had to remove/replace the flare portion on the rear passenger door (2004 Liberty)?
It's attached to the door mostly like all the rest of the flares ... with the nylon rivets & the plastic clips. EXCEPT for this one friggin aluminum rivet near the upper/outer edge.
I can't...
Here goes - '04 Jeep Liberty, Copart fork truck got into the right rear frame gusset just beside the rear control arm mount (got into the control arm mount too). Damage is pictured. Don't really want to drill out the spots; I have a stud welder ... thinking of pulling the metal back out and back...
So I've replaced my factory Front Bumper Cover - it's a bit faded & has a few bumps & bruises, too good to throw away though ... could anyone near NC use it? It would be a good candidate for trimming if you wanted to keep your original.
I saw this neat '05 CRD Liberty on eBay sitting on a set of MOAB's ... I emailed and asked what size were the Grabber's that are on in & if there was evidence of rubbing.
Seller responded that it had 255/65/R16's on it and there was no evidence of rubbing.
Didn't mention what type/height...
Continuing my hours of reading, I found these two (2) posts to be helpful with my question, but didn't hit my specific need-to-know:
>>> Rookie needs help with tires/rims before I make a costly mistake
>>> 245/75-16/2.5" lift/pinch weld rubbing question
I'm looking for guidance on this ...
I'm probably about to ask questions/advice on a topic that's been asked hundreds of times; but, I've read so much - across three forums - that, I'm about as confused as before I started.
Background - I've managed to pick myself up a '04 Liberty Sport (Gas, 4x4, 3.73's) at a Salvage Auction...
