So just before my last wheel alignment I replaced the rack bushes I clearly remember tightening them up I can only assume the alignment guys loosened them for some reason right side was from left side quite loose I could turn by hand the knocking is gone now and I have some nice new bushes...
I have been hearing a knocking noise that I think is coming from the front end. I only hear it first thing in the morning after I leave my driveway, I turn into a side street about 20 metres after my driveway and when braking is when I hear this sound kind of like something banging...
I had both issues had to drop the tank blew out all lines from the tank to the charcoal filter with compressed air . Problem solved

Damage cold go all theway to the Crank. Had Mazda years ago the PO didnt hand turn motor over after rebuild, it bounced a valve and very slightly bent the crank 20thou if memory serves correct

Bad move the platinum are no good. They have a different resistance to copper and cause problems. In my case misfire and erratic idling

I agree to a point some of the heavy gradients here in Oz there is no where enough engine braking available with the Auto transmission that you still need to use alot of brake pedal
