I finally bit the bullet and ordered and installed a new latch assembly after driving around for a couple of weeks with my interior lights on and the lift-glass warning light on. I couldn't find just the microswitch for it. Either way it works very nice.
While everything was apart I also...
I ended up getting new tires put on today. Went with Toyo Open Country AT2's, they were priced right, the salesman was a big fan of them and they're (supposedly) made in the US.
Anyway they look much much better than the worn out all seasons that were on there.
Nortons are very cool but I would love to have a R1100S (got to demo a R1100RS, R1100GS and a K1100RS at Vintage Motorcycle Days back in '95 when I was 20). Boxers are my favorite BMW's
For bikes it goes:
1977 Kawasaki KZ650 (bought from a garage sale in 1994)
1988 Honda Hawk GT
2001 Kawasaki ZX6R
2003 Triumph Speed Triple (bought as a new left over in 2005)
2013 Husky TR650 Terra (bought new)
The only one I regret was the ZX6R. I traded my beloved Hawk GT for...
I started with a 4 speed/smog 350 1976 Camaro. It was more bondo than car plus I never drove past a gas station so that was replaced with a 2.5/5 speed Fiero. No rust, got great gas mileage and was awesome in snow. Unfortunately it was also starting to fall apart when I was at the university...
Good to know about the fuses...just being extra careful
It's suppose to rain..again...tomorrow so I'll just leave it outside for a free car wash
Oh yeah it was spitting snow the night before and was a balmy 27 when we started. It has that slippery arsed clay mud so prevalent in the Midwest but I still had a blast. There was just this one off camber hill that I was sure we were going to roll over and had a sphincter level 11, but we...
Made it back alive!!!
I didn't see any other Liberties down there, mostly Wrangles, CJ's and older plenty of XJ Cherokee's. There were even some full sized trucks playing too mixed in with a bunch of quads.
Anyway I'm so glad I had an experienced off roader as my co-pilot, I would have never...
I certainly would like to check out Badlands maybe this spring/summer. I know my son (11 years old) would love going with me. Just checking out the websites it looks to be more my speed. Anyway this trip to Cliffs is a quasi camping trip for the others but I just plan on driving down for the...
Well I'm just going to go anyway and see what's going on. If it seems too gnarly I'll simply just park it and hitch a ride with someone else down there. I'm suffering from cabin fever in the worst way. Nothing to prove, just looking to try something different. This might be the wrong park at...
I sound like a fool but I do not have any skid plates other than the factory transfer case plate that came standard. I'm going to take it easy because of that. Having to have the rear end rebuilt killed my budget, I know it's a lame excuse.
I do plan on getting at least a front and a...
Thanks guys for taking time to answer some newb questions.
I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to come. Bummer it's suppose to be 40 on Saturday (and probably muddy) but at least I have heated seats and a great heater. I'm just going to switch to my "chill" personality and enjoy the day...
Hey guys, I'm meeting a bunch of people I barely know this Saturday for my first off road experience (excluding motorcycles). We are meeting at Cliff's Insane Terrain and I have an experienced guy who said he will guide me around for a little bit. I think the guys I'm meeting with are driving...

Front (Mopar) recovery hooks are freshly installed. I've got a rear tow hook for the receiver so hopefully I'm ready for my first...
