Misfiring today....thinking it could be head gasket.

DTC codes are P0301 and DTC P0302............which basically means cylinders 1 and 2 are b0th misfiring.......one cylinder misfire on each bank. I ended up reading Volts/ohms/mAmps/Amps/Continuity/etc....I ran all the tests and the coils are within specs. The engine continues to misfire...

    2003 Heat Issue

Do BOTH hoses get hot at the same time. If yes, then the heater core is fine. If one hose is obviously hotter than the other, you should use a chemical flushing agent. Most auto parts stores sell the flushing chemical, and it ACTUALLY works. Follow the instructions on the bottle for proper...

Misfiring today....thinking it could be head gasket.

Yes, the engine turns over. The engine runs. Currently, there is no water/moisture in the engine compartment. Coils are completely dry. Spark plugs were replaced. Before removing plugs, I used compressed air to blow water out of the spark plug wells (so that when plugs were removed, the water...

Misfiring today....thinking it could be head gasket.

2003 Jeep Liberty Sport 3.7L v6 So today the Libby was driving fine.....it's my daughters Jeep. She'll occasionally take it up in the mountains and cross stream beds and rocky terrain (rocks the size of footballs). Nothing major. No hi rpm mud slingin' or anything like that. Anyhow, she...

    Rear end pop/clunk

Yes, I could feel the clunk. What you can do is fold a towel a couple times and shut it in the door jamb......just like wedging something in the door to give it some tightness.

    Catalytic converter rattling.....going bad.....

I used to buy VW's and Audi's with blown engines/transmissions....DIRT CHEAP. I would then swap in a used engine or transmission, resell them and make a great profit. They actually have high resale values (for being such problematic vehicles). And yes, I too have found that those VAG cars are...

    Catalytic converter rattling.....going bad.....

I should have been more clear with my statement. What I was trying to convey was: A MagnaFlow cat purchased in Nevada, Florida, Texas (where ever) performs the same as a MagnaFlow cat purchased in California.....the only difference is the CARB stamp on the cat and the tax $$$ in California...

    P0137/P0138 Codes

You mentioned that a local parts store let you use thier tool to scan the Jeeps computer........go back to that store and ask them if you can use the scan-tool again......and this time, select the scan-tools "real-time-data" option and look at the Live Data numbers that the B1S2 is displaying...

    Yay....another broken window regulator....

.....all regulators were on different doors. The most current one that broke was still able to roll the window up however, when lowering the window, the glass would come down a few inches and then the long cable that is supposed to contain the twisting wire (whatever it's called) would push it's...

    Catalytic converter rattling.....going bad.....

Well, online......today I ordered both cats.....non Mopar units......put the expense on the credit card. Holidays are upon us, and I'm pretty much tapped out as far as hard cash is concerned. The Mopar units would have been $1,300 each thru the dealership. And definately the best option as far...

    Catalytic converter rattling.....going bad.....

Ok, so the cat on the drivers side of my 2003 Libby V6 is rattling, the computer is giving the code related to that cat being below threshold efficiency.....I removed the cat and found that it was grossly plugged up. A new Mopar cat costs $1,300 at a local dealership...so I hollow out the cat (I...

Might be selling my daughters KJ.......just wondering

Quite a few Liberty's with "salvage" titles for $3,000ish and lower (130k) miles. Clean titled ones with 150k-200k miles going for $4,000-$7,000 A few that are 'totaled', or with blown motor or transmissions are listed for $1,500-$2,500 I think I am going to list the Jeep for $4,000 and...

Might be selling my daughters KJ.......just wondering

Just wondering what would be a fair price for the Liberty. It is in really nice condition, but the mileage is 183k miles. None of my other cars have more than 100k miles. Is The Jeep 3.7L engine reaching the end of it's lifecycle? It runs really good, but I would hate to sell it to someone and...

    RF axle seal puking

I use a small slide hammer with a really sharp drywall type of screw on the tip of it. The sharp screw will stab into the seal, then just screw it in and give it some wacks. It will eventually pull the seal out, if the screw rips out of the seal, just stab it in another spot......the seal will...
