I believe the Ubolts are 3" I wanted em longer to fit lock washers if necessary and anything I may need to bolt on the same point up there. And yes, it's 3/4" EMT.

Hey CactusJacked, believe me, now that you say it... I would definitely do that if I had another go at making crossbars. Quick, get that idea patented!

Thought I'd post an update. I coated the bars and hardware (U Bolts) with rustoleum truck bed liner. Should hold up pretty well. I'm sure they will be able to support a roof basket, when I get around to fabricating one.
