I have experienced the same clunk with my 2005 KJ, especially noticeable after backing out of a parking spot. As soon as I moved forward "CLUNK". My solution was to order poly urethane steering rack bushings, install them, no more clunk.

I had a similar problem on an old car i have. I removed the door panels and sprayed the door lock actuators liberaly with WD40 while operating them witth the switch. They freed up and ten years later are still working like new. Worth trying, before investing in a much more expensive BCM.

I have thr Airlift kit installed as well. I keep 3PSIG in them normaiiy and raise the pressure to about 8PSI when I have the hitch rack and my wifes mobility scooter on the back. 8 psi keeps the rear ride height at 19".
