    Trailer Tow Package

Yeah, actually, I didn't mean to include the trans cooler in the list as I know that it is already there even without the tow package. This is the one that I'm looking at: Cars for Sale: 2011 Jeep Liberty Limited in Highland, MI 48357: Sport Utility Details - 374685192 - AutoTrader.com...

    Trailer Tow Package

Hey guys... it's been a while since I've been around here (surprised I remembered my log in info) since I traded in our old Liberty for a minivan . Anyway, I'm looking at buying a '11 or '12 Liberty, but one caveat is that it MUST have the factory installed trailer tow package...

    Amp Grounding?!

I've used seat belt bolts in the past, however that was not in a jeep, and I don't know how the Jeep seat belts are set up, so I don't know if that'll work or not. If you do that though, make sure you get them torqued properly when you re-tighten. The self tapping screw idea sounds like a good...

Big day for Me and My KJ

Haha... That wine tasting trip is exactly, stop-for-stop, the exact same wine tasting trip I went on with my wife and some friends two years ago. I love the dramatic entrance to :D"The Mac Daddy of MI Wineries":D and ended up taking that exact same photo. I had a built in DD on that trip...

    parking lights switched power wire

Yeah... that's the right way to do it. I have all the info for my '02, but I doubt the wire colors are the same. From what I can tell, the wiring is the same for all '05-'07. Based on this info, you're going to be looking for Pink/Red switched ground wire in the steering column...

    Steering feels Spongy...

Yep, that's why I put entirely new LCA's on mine too... However I used the cheapest ones I could find...lol. Not OEM.

    parking lights switched power wire

So you have a switch for the aux lights and you just want to have the parking light switch set up as a "master off" switch right? I don't have the wiring diagram for your model year, but I know that he parking lights are turned on by a switched ground through a resistor of some value. The best...

    Steering feels Spongy...

I was wondering that myself. That's why I specified the brand of ball joint and LCA's. I didn't want to mention it though becauseIi wanted to see if someone else suggested it. I just had my buddy at work drive it and he said it feels just like driving his liberty. So as of right now, I'm...

    Steering feels Spongy...

Haha... I like the way you put that... and I think that just might be what's going on here. I really need to just start letting my wife drive it again, but I want to make sure everything is A-OK before putting her and our baby in it. After this weekend though, as long as nothing goes wrong...

    Steering feels Spongy...

No whining sound, so I don't think there's a power steering problem. The first thing I was thinking was steering rack bushings. How can I tell if they're bad. I had my wife turn the wheel while I watched the rack, and there was no movement, so I'm not sure.

    Steering feels Spongy...

None of the old parts were replaced because they were "bad". I had to pull the front axle to get to the oil pan. All the replacement parts were "casualties" from the axle removal process which included cutting through the control arm bolts to remove them. So, the tires should be OK... (fronts...

    Steering feels Spongy...

Hey guys, I recently replaced a bunch of front end parts, and got an alignment, but something doesn't feel right in the steering. Some of the parts that I replaced include: Right front CV shaft & intermediate shaft, left front wheel bearing, left & right lower control arms (Mevotech), left &...

Oil pan covered under powertrain warranty?

I like that idea, and my wife would LOVE it... I wish I had those skills.:D

    Positive Battery Cable

Looking forward to seeing that! I'd like to do this to my wife's, since I have to clean the corrosion off the pos terminal every other week it seems (not really, but at least twice a year). Adam

Oil pan covered under powertrain warranty?

    Here's to hoping!!(Cheers) Mine wasn't...but mine's an '02, so I don't know.

Oil pan covered under powertrain warranty?

I hate to be a downer, but I'd be willing to bet that once you start scraping the corrosion off you're going to end up with a leak. In both cases (my trans and oil pan) I was able to push a screwdriver through the corroded area with very little force. So, once you start scraping, you're...

Oil pan covered under powertrain warranty?

I just had to do this on my wifes '02 w/ 114K miles. We live in Michigan, so yeah...the salt sucks. I had to replace the trans pan last year too for the same reason. Salt or not, I've never had this sort of problem with any other vehicle I've ever owned (and I've lived in MI my whole life)...

Viper 5101 Remote Start Keyless Entry, Omega ChDL4-P

Ugh... I wish I would have known about this Omega interface module about a year ago when I installed a bi-directional remote start / keyless entry in my wifes '02 KJ. I used all my own home made resistor packs / relays for the keyless entry. That was a PITA.

    KJ longevity

'02 Limited w/ 114,780 miles (owned since approx 45K miles) All maintenance & repairs performed by me. I don't know the mileage of all the repairs, but here's the list: -re-solder tail glass defrost leads (performed by dealer that we purchased from before signing papers) -blower motor...
