    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

Okay, and someone should test to see how much hydrogen an alternator will generate. That's sounds nice in theory, but in reality can we not calculate the output of electrolysis without past experimentation. You can't sit there and calculate the output of hydrogen unless someone at some point...

    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

The alternator is already spinning. The energy to do this is produced by the engine. When an energy demand is placed on the alternator it in turn places that load onto the engine in mechanical form. However, the energy to spin the mass of the alternator prior to the load is being used...

    Hydrogen generator in the KJ

I've done a little digging on the internet and found some interesting results. For instance, there is one guy that claims to have run his car on water alone for years. I think that this would be an interesting and fun experiment to do on an older non fuel injected vehicle. People can say what...

    OK, be honest...

Everything is a compromise. If you want pure offroad performance then yes the TJ is better but the liberty makes a better dd and has more cargo space. If the liberty had a SFA or a better IFS then we wouldn't care.

    OK, be honest...

The KJ has a tendency to look 'soft' and 'droopy' from certain angles but i think it looks awesome from the front especially with a lift. Sometimes when i see mine in a parking lot i think 'boy that's a nice looking jeep'.:) No jeep looks half as good as the scenery that i use it to drive through.

    15k ques..

yeah, it would be better to open it up for reasons above. I was thinking small metal shavings would get sucked out, like it does through a drain plug, but large ones maybe not so much. I think i will change my diff and tranny fluids tomorrow - way overdue. I'll pay a shop to do the...

    15k ques..

I was just reading in my manual the easiest way to drain the rear diff fluid is through the filler plug hole with a suction pump. No need to open the diff cover at all.

    Curious?

Try this: Drive out by yourself and get stuck in a mud hole with nothing but a broken shovel, a seized come-along, a 6 ft chain, a 10' recovery strap, and a hi-lift jack. MacGiver eat your heart out! Now, i got out in only 2.5 hours. Lets see if you can beat that! :D Practice makes perfect!

    rad fan toast

yeah, thanks. the fan is getting voltage but the fan doesn't work. I tried another fan that worked but it doesn't fit my shroud. The dealer ordered me another for almost $600. I use the vehicle for my work so i needed it fixed right away and nobody in town sells one for the Liberty...

    rad fan toast

My rad fan died today causing the cooling system to overheat and spill out. Strange though the temp guage never moved from normal. The stealership wants $600 for a new one. First the fan relay died and now the rad fan itself. What could be causing them both to go out?

    Hard to keep Stopped

Mine is like that and on slippery ice it's even worse because it won't want to come to a complete stop unless you shift it to Neutral.

    Best Tire Size

I guess no one on here has had the above issue but around here, like it or not, sticky mud is part of the environment. The other issue i'm wrestling with is the loss of torque everyone talks about when going to the 32" size. The loss of torque coupled with lack of clearance between the tires...

    Post Your KJ in Mud!

I like this picture. The way the sun beams shine off the back of the kj is really cool. Did you use a lens filter?

    Best Tire Size

My dad thinks i should go with a smaller size. Here's what he said: On another topic, you may want to do some more research on the amount of space you will need between the tires and the wheel well for driving in mud. If you plug up that space you will put incredible torque on the drive...

    Best Tire Size

Okay, I test fit a 265/75 BFG TA KO tire with stock rims that i found while offroading. In the front the tire rubs around the UCA so a different rim or wheel spacer is required of course. The tire barely misses the pinch weld at full wheel turn. The tire rubs on the front fender slightly at...

    oil light came on

That's what happened to my dad's old diesel truck a few years ago. His fuel pump failed and the whole engine seized up. He just bought a new tranny for it too. He Sold it off for parts. My oil light indicator never came on today. Could it be the trick the dealer told me worked? Either way i...
