    profdlp's 2007 Liberty Project

I used Plasti Dip on the wheels and it has held up very well. I just masked the rims off but some people use a deck of cards slid in around the rim which may be easier. One thing I forgot to do was to wrap some lug nuts (old ones if you have them) in masking tape and lay them in the rim to...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Drove it to the BMV to get tags for the trailer I bought a few months ago.

..and I may even wash it this year! (Been doing a lousy job of keeping up with that...)

Surprisingly not slippery. They have grooves from one end to the other. Oh, and the roof rack is new as well. The old one gave me ten years of faithful service but was really piling on the rust.

They are pretty solid but I wouldn't want to actually try and slide them across any serious rocks. (Playful, carefree rocks and I might take a chance.) ;)

My bars are really there so my 4'11" wife has a step to get into my Jeep. I replaced them last spring so the ones in this (sadly neglected) thread have been updated. The new ones look like this:

1st Jeep. First Jeep Forum. Hi from the Pacific North West

Look, just because some of us still eat paste doesn't mean we're eccentric. (Not that eccentric, anyway...) :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

^ That is a significant amount of work done. Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back - you deserve it! :)

What did you do to your jeep today?

When people ask me where I like to go off-roading I tell them "Downtown Cleveland".

Asking those who have done their own paint job at home

Do you have a good sprayer? (Or what do you plan to use to apply the paint?)

Asking those who have done their own paint job at home

Can you get a couple pictures of the areas which would be problematic to paint? My first instinct is to say that picking a complementary color would be the safest route. Maybe you could mess around with a photo editing tool to get a clearer idea what it would look like. I am lousy at...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I have been going to the gym regularly for two months now. Today I felt it was time to crank things up a notch. Everything went really well. But after a big weight workout I often get this post-workout mental fog. No big deal, I feel great otherwise - guess the endorphins really do get you...

What did you do to your jeep today?

And worth every penny! ;) I agree with that. Had they said "We can do a bunch of minor checks and maybe spend four hours chasing a wild goose, but we recommend pulling the head and starting there. Your call" then I would have more confidence in their pre-diagnosis.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I'd be leery of having people work on it who sound like they are only guessing to begin with. If all you wanted was a dumb guess you could have come to me. :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

^ I would love to get my Jeep up on a lift for an afternoon. I'm getting a little old to be doing the slug-crawl under and back.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I have a bunch of shirts like that. They weren't skin tight when I bought them, but... (I have been hitting the gym like a maniac for seven weeks now so that is slowly getting corrected.) ;)

What did you do to your jeep today?

The grey tabby died on Jan 1st. The black one passed away this morning, resulting in the same sad trip to the vet. My Jeep has become more of a hearse than anything else at this point.
