Got some more stuff done. Finally starting to check off some things on my list in my sig!
Crossbars on.
Notice the missing center caps.
Basket up
Next is lights up there along with some touching up of certain areas. Also some small items.
First small item. I knew about...
I saw this on the local news. Sure they passed initial crash tests, but the ball joints and such passed initial quality tests. The reason for these recalls and investigations is to protect us. Sure it could be someone with a wild hair up you know where, but if it saves someones life then so...
Worth a day or two trip though! I would not discourage anyone from going there but for a large group and guys driving a couple of days to get there, meh.
~EDIT~ I would maybe recommend Gilbert as a back-up in case the date lands during Sturgis. Let me know the dates when they come...
Getting stuff free is always awesome. Until someone ****'s it up.
Also I wrote that more for others coming across this thread. :happy107:
I know you would have done it :rockit: .
If it is Appleton you are thinking of its alright but probably not a place we would want this large of a trip. Not a ton of trails for people to keep busy. Gilbert would be better suited for that but probably more inconvenient. Just my $.2
Pinion seals are not hard and they are usually a pretty cheap item to do. I must say my background is all medium-heavy duty with this type of repair. I have never done one on a KJ yet but mine is leaking and will be taken care of in a week or so.
Depending on the diff they can put up a...
Mkay. I thought there might be some o-rings stuck up in the rail. Thanks for the quick reply tjkj. Now I have a plan of attack for tomorrow after work. Damn $.85 clips. Chrysler couldn't have invested another couple cents in to them so they dont just shatter when you go to pull them off. Weak.
Alright. So I have been chasing a mis-firing number 4 cylinder. I decided to swap the injector tonight with #2. Well those damn retaining clips I broke 2 of the 3 on the right bank. So now I can't drive my Jeep until tomorrow when I can go to the dealer and pick a couple up.
I also need...
I have not found any kits but...
Tamiya America Item #84071 | RC Jeep Wrangler - CC01
Has IFS and is pretty close. Then add a KJ body off of a different cheaper brand of r/c car. I cannot remember who makes them but they pop up on ebay every once and I while. Just have to be on the lookout.
Damn I forgot the most important one. The check in plan! Whenever I am out ice fishing someone knows where and how long I will be out. A lot of times you may not have good cell reception thats why it is important for someone to know a time frame that way they know when to come looking.
What I am stuck on is if it were a head issue you would think that shutting it down then re-starting would have no effect on it. I have been known to be wrong before but it sounds more electrical to me.
I am actually going through the same as you only on cyl #4. It will misfire on start up then either go away right away. Or it will keep missing until I turn the car off and then back on and it goes away. I could use some insight. I thought about possibly if the battery is going weak or alt...
All fluids like stated above. Fuel if you have somewhere to keep it. I also make sure I have enough stuff in the vehicle to keep myself going in case of a major breakdown in a remote area. After you do your services make sure you put enough miles on to check everything before heading out on a...
Thank you. Took that with my phone ha ha. 10mp Camera on a phone doesn't hurt! I will have to put it in pic of the month when it falls in to the category.
