But the prices quoted are from Chrysler dealers. I actually bought the pan locally this morning from a dealer at list cost of $21.85. Dealer cost is probably around $12-$15.
So the lesson learned for anyone following this thread, the transmission pans on E-bay for $40 plus with free...
I just put another post in the main forum about the pan rusting, however with regards to the filter I have found even Mopar prices all over the place. My 2003 service manual states to use RTV on the pan, do the later trannys use the gasket (which would honestly be easier and less messy).
Don't post too often here but have been doing some searches. We came home yesterday afternoon to a nice river of tranny fluid in the driveway. Upon inspection, the transmission pan has rusted through. I have a few questions I am hoping someone can help with.
First, it appears that Jeep put...
Stop driving it, the coolant in the quantities you describe will result in bearing damage, unless of course they are going to replace the motor. I can't believe they did this and sent you on your way, a pressure check will confirm and also a sniff test on the coolant. What the heck is wrong...
Thanks. I also sent you a PM, at least I think I did. The PM function on this web site seems to work differently than the others I belong to.
I also noticed on the drain plug that the rubber o-ring looked like it was originally molded to the drain plug, but now has a feathered edge and is...
I would recommend German Castrol 0W-30, I run it year round in all my cars including the Vette. Super oil, meets ACEA A3 requirements and is usually available at Autozone. It will say "Made in Germany" on the back, if it doesn't it is not the real deal.
I just picked up the Haynes manual, which as usual is lacking in information. I am looking for the torque value for the front differential fill and drain plugs and the transfer case fill and drain plugs.
Thanks
Yes, I am replacing the calipers as well. I have found some Federal Mogul rebuilds that offer a metal piston to replace the phenolic one, which should help with sticking in the future. New Bendix rotors will go on as well. She spoke to Jeep about it, they admitted to the problem but the...
Hi,
New to this forum and Jeeps. My daugther has an 03 Liberty that I now have up on blocks. It appears the rear caliper pistons stuck and ground the pads right into the rotors. Does anyone have the service manual that can provide me with the torque value required to install the rear...
