For those of you interested, I think I may have found a vendor who sells hard wheel covers for the Liberty
The vendor is RollMasters. I still have to give them a call to see if they have the cover for my 02 KJ, but I will post here when I know!
I agree with the wax first, seal second methodology. A good wax formulated for black and other dark paints contains oils that enhance the color depth. A sealant does exactly what it name implies and will seal in the oils from the wax application.
I'm a Meguiars detailer, so my point of...
Cheapest and fastest way to take it out of the loop is simply to cut the belt. Same thing happened with an old Honda Civic I owned. The ac compressor went out and I left it alone for years. Then during a maintenance check my mechanic noted the compressor belt was worn and advised me to replace...
Found their website (eCatalog). The part listed by the OP is for a 2002 Jeep Liberty with a 3.7L engine: Part Number: 638852. New Sanden/Sankyo SD7H15 Compressor w/ Clutch
You need Part Number: 638971. New HS18 Compressor w/ Clutch
I've been looking for a hard plastic wheel cover for my exposed spare, but the closest I've found is a combo with a hard plastic shell on the outer face and cloth cover for the rest of the tire.
Are there any manufacturers who make an all plastic cover (including the tread ring) for the KJ...
I was mistaken in my initial post. I thought there was a tuner for the 3.7L and there is, but it's from Hypertech and only for 2004 and later KJ's. DiabloSports does sell a tuner for Jeeps, but for the 3.8 and 4.0 engines only. My apologies for the misquote.
Against better advice, I installed an OEM Jeep Liberty blower motor resistor (1st image below) Sunday and had a fan for 15 minutes before the resistor blew again when I turned the selector to setting 4. I contacted Leann who had mentioned using a resistor from a Sebring instead.
I ordered the...
A few months ago something similar happened to me. A small pebble got stuck between the rotor and the rotor cover (inner diameter of the rotor), but the sound was much harsher than what you're describing. Dislodged it with a long screwdriver and it was all good. You might have a softer foreign...
You could try a canned or custom tune using something like the DiabloSport Trinity Tuner (and yes, they do build one for the Jeep 3.7L V6). But be advised the power increase tunes usually come with a tradeoff such as decreased MPG coupled with a requirement for higher octane fuel.
Check the fuse by all means. I am having the same issue with my power mirrors and was told by my mechanic that I need to replace the entire switch on the driver's door. In the US, that part # is 56010093AA for Mirrors - Power Heated, and 56010094AA for Mirrors - Power.
In all likelihood, you...
OK, so my 2nd DIY following my attempt later today to replace my motor blower resistor will be replacing the master power mirror switch on the driver's door panel. I haven't found a How-to on this one yet, so I hope I can get a couple of questions answered here.
I'm coming up with two part...
