I've taken many chances with salvage engines over the years and only had one bad one. It's been while since I've done any engine swaps, but there used to be quite a few salvage yards around the STL area to buy from. Quite a number of them would fire the engine up for you so you could hear it...
I have the ST's. They seem VERY slick in the rain to me. Haven't had them through any snow yet.
I did have a set of Michelin LTX's on an old 4Runner and they were seemed pretty decent in the rain and ok in the snow. They weren't worth a dime on anything else. Besides they're PRICEY!
After a few more days of rain here I realize I can NOT stand these stock Goodyear pieces of junk any longer. I've been burning up the search engine here looking at everyone's tire reviews, debates on what will fit and what won't, and trying to get a feel for what will work well for me. So how...
That's a good one.
Using that one I can see there sure isn't much difference at all between the stock 225/75/16 and a 245/70/16. But there sure is a bunch of difference in price comparing most brands.
For headlights I like the Sylvania Silverstar's or the Ultra version. They are brighter. They can be a bit of a hassle driving in snow though because they're like driving with your brights on and pretty blinding. They don't last as long either. I'd go with a good set of driving lights and...
You didn't quote anyone in your post (#15), so I assumed you were responding to my OP, so I quoted you. Sorry, I just have a hard time following who's responding to who/what without quotes. My bad.
Looks like maybe the older KJs had the flap, newer ones not so much.
On mine it blows the fuel out when the pump clicks off. If I slow the pump down to a medium to slow speed, when it clicks off there's fuel running all down the plastic fender flare. And if you're standing close enough to hold the gas nozzle you're more than likely getting a gas bath.
On...
Having owned both an '07 KJ and a '98 XJ, there's NO WAY I'd go back for a daily driver. The KJ is much more comfortable for me, I'm getting about 5 mpg better overall, and it does fine for what little off roading I do.
Someone mentioned having all the extra aftermarket parts because...
Fuel overflow FIXED! UPDATE #2
UPDATE 2What seems to be the final fix... I got my KJ out to the dealer this morning. They installed a new fuel tank. The service man originally told me it was a problem with the filler tube. But when they called me about the part being in the guy said, "Your...
My blower motor quit working on all setting EXCEPT high. Would this be a blower motor resistor issue or something else?
The last time I had a blower motor resistor go out it was the opposite... worked on all but the high setting. But that wasn't a Jeep. :o
Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Seems there's a lot of chatter about the Renegade light bars here. Just wondering if those cut into fuel mileage much? I know the difference in the newer low profile light bars on police vehicles makes a fairly dramatic difference over the old bars.
Since my KJ is a daily driver I'd like...
