    Yet more Frankenlift questions

Thanks! Yeah, if I go without the front spacer I would probably just piece it together from the OME parts rather than go for the assembled Frankie. I don't think I care about matching the back, I don't mind if the front is a little lower. What's the spacer, 3/4"? 1"? Russ

    Yet more Frankenlift questions

    1. Would my CVs be less taxed without the spacer in front? Enough to make a difference? I don't necessarily need a lot of clearance, I mostly want the better springs. 2. Here's a tough one - Is it possible to qualify the difference between the OME struts and the Ranchos? Are they worth $120...

    AZ KJcountry AUGUST TRIP 2.0

I don't have any problems going up Montana Mountain and turning around. Or, we could always keep an eye on the weather and do the original Wickenburg run if it looks promising. Right now, for example, next weekend is looking good in Wickenburg. We're easy to please and don't have any strong...

AZ Aug trip, common wheelin w us!

I haven't done any of these runs. Montana Mountain has the advantage of being closer, although it does run in washes both on the way up and on the way down. ...or maybe even more of a "lessons learned" session. But yeah, what he said.

AZ Aug trip, common wheelin w us!

If you want an on-the-spot backup that pretty much starts in the same place, Constellation Road (Wickenburg Mountains in Wells) looks like it's not prone to flooding. If I read my topo right. Russ

    Double Rainbow, with obligatory Jeep

It is indeed. I am reminded of a passage from a story: The man, whose name was nondescript, unslung his máquina and placed it on the bartop, gently, as if it was asleep and he wished not to wake it. It was his favorite machine gun. They had been together for years. Men who knew of guns...

    Double Rainbow, with obligatory Jeep

I'm just off Silverbell, between Grant and Ruthrauff. And yes, we do get critters in the neighborhood. Used to get a rattlesnake a year or so in the yard, but I haven't seen any for two or three years now. Bunnies, birds, coyotes, javelinas, tarantulas, the usual.

    Silverton/Ouray Colorado Trip....

AJ, did you use that entrance to the Alpine Loop that's just south of Ouray off 550? Supposedly that's the hardest way in.

    Double Rainbow, with obligatory Jeep

That's my driveway. If I had been standing on something a little higher in the first picture you would be able to see downtown Tucson. Nice moon pics hyedipin! Especially that first crescent. Russ

Thanks! Wide angle. I loves me some wide angle. 12mm on a Nikon D200. Russ

We had an unusual full double rainbow, intact from end to end. Faint, but unmistakable, with "self-portrait":

    Bull Springs Road/Gardner Canyon Run

Eh, I had the map. I think that's the only reason I was in the lead. A special Grazie goes to ExpeditionsWest web site, where they post GPS tracks of their runs. I was just following them, as it were.

    Bull Springs Road/Gardner Canyon Run

I didn't get many pictures of trucks driving trails, but here's one of Glenn and his Ram50: I surfed the skid plates and bounced on the hitch a couple of times but these trails were certainly "stockable". Although I had originally planned to go in on Amado Montosa road, which goes *through*...

    Bull Springs Road/Gardner Canyon Run

o8k and his friend Glenn and I did Bull Springs Road south of Tucson. It didn't rain on us at all (although the skies were threatening), but it had obviously rained a lot in this area in the last few days - many washouts and ruts. I didn't get a good lineup picture, but here's my Libertad and...

3rd annual Fun In The Sun Run

Another Schnebly Hill Road sunset picture, taken several years ago - yes, we drove this road in our Neon, although we didn't make it all the way to the highway, but that was only because it was getting dark.
