    Bad fan?

Hi all, Went to start my 04 3.7L and noticed the check engine light was on. Popped the hood and noticed the electric cooling fan wasn't turning. Can't look into much at the moment cuz damn faulty hood lifts nearly fell and killed me. These fans supposed to go bad after a given time? I...

    Gear Oil selection

Regarding the rear axle, the tag on the tube says '8.25'. Its got a open diff. Vehicles got 87,000 miles and I can't say whether the gear oils ever been changed (got it used a couple years ago). No offroading, and no towing. In a Moderate climate for the most part, usually around Northeast area...

    trans pan gasket (45RFE)

When you pulled the pan off, was there any residual sealant? Did you try to use a Gasket Scraper to remove all of the residual sealant from the mating surface before reapplying sealant/gasket?

    Transmission Fluid Service

Thanks rocky. Do you change your transmission fluid at the defined intervals or more frequently because of not using recommended Mopar?

    Transmission Fluid Service

Thanks rocky. Being that, do you follow the same schedule for servicing your transmission or do you change it more frequently due to the non-use of the recommended Mopar?

    Transmission Fluid Service

Sorry to bring up an old thread. The only Trans. fluid recommended by Jeep/Chrystler for automatic transmissions is Mopar ATF+4. I am pretty sure Walmart used to sell the fluid for around 3/4 bucks a quart. They no longer sell Mopar fluid at least not in my area and it's not listed on their...

    Transmission Fluid Service

Yeah, dealer is the safest option. I'll contact them for a quote. Do you know if all stock transmissions on Liberty's don't come with a drain plug? It would make draining the fluid much easier and less messy. I understand the pan would still need to be dropped to change the filter and remove any...

    Airbox/Air Filter question

I recently replaced the air filter on my vehicle. I have few questions about the airbox/filter. Inside the airbox is a smaller rectangular cavity. ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting The cavity houses a small orange (once orange) rectangle foam. It is pretty fried. Not sure...

Would y'all trust a 30 dollar torque wrench for tightenting lug nuts?

I wanna rotate my tires and do not want to break the bank buying a torque wrench for upwards of a hundred or hundreds of dollars. Would anyone trust a cheap 20-30 dollar one for lug nut application? You know that old saying, you get what you pay for. I am sure it applies here as well. Example...

    Replacing oil filter '04 3.7 V6

I see. I think the best way to do it is over the top with the cap adapater and ratchet. Thanks again for the suggestion and friendly welcome. I look forward to posting in the future.

    Replacing oil filter '04 3.7 V6

Thanks for all responses. Dave, I am actually on the island 30 mins from NYC. I really appreciate that you'd be willing to do that though. I am not familiar with HD cooling, can you explain what that is. The fan, radiator and other cooling system components should all stock parts.

    Replacing oil filter '04 3.7 V6

Wanna change the oil on the vehicle but it looks like it is a pain to change out the oil filter because the belt system and electric fan are in the way. Some images of my what I am seeing can be seen at URLS below. ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting ImageShack® - Online Photo...
