Yeah, I'm not so sure about my skills pulling the dash and doing all that and my ability to puzzle it together again as well. Maybe if I had a partner working with me and took plenty of pics ;)
So, quoting myself from earlier - I need to ask my shop what they put in but if they didn't use...
Initially, they told me the battery and alternator were fine and I was thinking battery harness or something but that was the weekend crew. The monday morning crew came in and told me they had found the issues and they were under warranty. Honestly, I didn't ask any more since it was covered...
Thanks for the advice. Sounds like something I could do if we get a day above freezing... Since I was gonna wait anyway that could work.
One other question, just had a coolant flush and fill done locally but didn't know about the HOAT so I am now going to have to ask what they used. If it was...
Ah, so a coolant system flush. Had that done first thing on my 02 but don't think I did it on my 03. Buying two cars at the same time its getting a little confusing.
Forgive my ignorance on the HOAT?
Their quote to me (and I don't plan on using them for repairs, it was a 45 day used car warranty that they were working on and this wasn't covered) was that it would be a waste of money. I suggested that as well and asked if it would be worth trying.
Was planning on taking to a local guy near...
Surprisingly, Amazon has a lot of those type things. If they gouge you for shipping overseas, maybe someone in the states could buy for you and slip in an envelope at a cheaper rate.
On my '03 Liberty Sport, the heater is just blowing warm, not hot. My '02 by comparison blows plenty hot when the heat is on, so I know there's an issue.
I asked about the fresh air vent actuating and the shop said it is... and they are telling me the heater core needs to be replaced...
Just following up - they came back and said the alternator was indeed bad and there were issues with the speedometer. So, they are fixing as covered under a 45 day 1,250 mile warranty on the used car. Will report back and see if it solves things.
Said the same to me, but I have a feeling that the part is in short supply but if the light goes off - it might get there quicker ;)
I was thinking maybe something as simple as the battery wiring harness - or at least that might be a good/relatively inexpensive place to start. Looking on...
I did check the vin when I got the car - and that indicated both needed to be serviced for the recall that just happened. I assume that the one you are talking about? Since it went off, I guess it's a good time to take it in to the dealer and mention that ;)
As far as power distro...
Hey All:
Bought a high mileage 2003 Jeep Liberty recently (actually bought an 02 and an 03 days apart) and am having a few issues with the 2003.
Things had been driving fine for a few weeks till we started having issues with the speedometer. It will be working fine, then go dead, then...
Bought from a dealer - so not sure how to go about doing that. I'll give the sales person a call and see but am guessing drilling it out or seeing if there is a number on the lock will be the route I have to go.
In the last week, I have actually bought 2 Jeep KJ's - a 2002 and a 2003. The 03 has a roof rack with crossbars and I noticed (after we got home) that the rack has a lock on each end of the crossbars.
Well, unfortunately - we got no key to go along with that. Aside from calling a locksmith...
Ok, dumb question but - how do you know if you have heated mirrors. Was trying to adjust my drivers side the other day and heard a snap sound. Now mirror moves in and out without any resistance at all. Not good. So, I need to replace.
