No this is an intermittent noise, and loud, I would be worried if it was the fuel pump...have only heard it twice, once on the test drive (car had been stood) and recently. The purge pump sounds the most reasonable answer Thanks Mark- UKKJ

a/c smell
hi, I noticed a discussion about a/c smells on JU... discussed a few years ago. My a/c smells a little when I put it into hot on the a/c setting. The car was parked on the dealer forecourt for a while and could have some mould on the a/c coil. Has anyone else here had a smelly a/c...- UKKJ

Parking Sensors
Heres the Jeep Reversing sensors installed, there are four! It is very accurate now, low tone and constant tone equates to exactly 50cm. I don't know If i would have done it, had someone not already had a go (and drilled the bumper) :-k- UKKJ

ditto KJlad I paid £13k for mine at a Jeep dealer, 13 months old, warranty (extendable) 8k miles, No insurance issues, part exchange and RHD!! US translation = cheap!! I did my homework and don't appreciate sweeping comments #-o Anyway, The overlap issue in the US sounds the most...- UKKJ

3.7L Decent or not?
The best thing about the 3.7 are the comedy launch speeds that can be carried out... Up to about 20mph...you would need an Impreza or a bike to keep up!! Also, with TracLok in 2WD, exiting junctions sideways is always fun...as soon as it rains engage 4WD full time!!- UKKJ

Why Liberty in USA and Cherokee in RSA, Oz, UK., etc?
THe UK has had the Cherokee names since about 93/94...when we started importing the the square one!! ... I am not sure, at the same time (or not long after) we got the WJ... I can't think of a licensing reason in the UK...DC just must have thought that us brits wouldn't understand a name...- UKKJ

UPDATE ON PARKING SENSORS The rear parking sensors fitted to my jeep were aftermarket and were useless... I did some digging...and pure luck...led me to a set of genuine Jeep items. These have and additional 2 sensors in the wheel cover (export only??) The part number is...- UKKJ

What did you sell or trade to get your KJ?
Mini Cooper S... 170bhp on run flats in the snow ....enough reason to justify a 4x4 anyway!! MPG ain't much different The KJ is my 28th car....and the best yet!! Wife still has a Mini Convertible....it fits in the trunk nicely!! Less liable to get SCAMERA attacks!!- UKKJ

Pump noise?? from rear

Screeching tires...Normal? Design flaw?
Stock Goodyears on mine in the UK. Same squeel issues....very embarressing actually Will be buying BFG All Terrains as soon as can justify Had 2 V6 Shoguns (Montero's) with them on, spent a lot of time setting up gravel rally stages and they are awesome...pure grip at 60mph off...- UKKJ

I have considered removing the 'L' from 3.7L In the UK, 'L' is about the lowest spec model in any car range... POVERTY SPEC - L, GL, GLS, GT, SPORT, SE, GLX, Ghia, etc - TOP SPEC Some non jeep people might think mine is a bottom of the range model!! No other model in the UK has 'L'...- UKKJ

Standard fit in the UK as the nice policemen are so anal about number plate sizes and positions... They have got to make sure the number plate recognition software can get you on the motorway if you dare to do +10% and +2mph over the limit ....I would dream of not having to run a front...- UKKJ

When they are working..they are cool.. The wife has a roofless mini and they are fitted as standard (you can't see out the back too well!!) The front ones are on a switch, as there is no way of telling you are parking!!?? Also very good for tailgating people!! When I get the rears...- UKKJ
