Went ahead and took the ISO's off to measure 'em since my new springs came in...way too big to find 'em in red poly. But...it looks like somebody recently replaced 'em because the dent in the rubber from the old coils was pretty negligible, so I just used 'em again with the new springs. Energy...
Replaced the rear coils with Moogs. Just installed Moog struts a couple of weeks ago, so now everything is nice and level again. Even the Moogs are pretty stout springs compared to OEM...looked like 25% bigger wire. They're not near as center-centric as the OEM though...I had to be real careful...
I used the Energy Suspension part # 9.13126R boot kit on mine. Capacity is a little on the low side, but they fit very tight. Even the needle injector is tricky to get in there.
Thanks. If I can't find 'em in red I'll just get the black ones as long as they're poly and not rubber. All the rubber I've taken off so far has been seriously degraded. Exposed rubber does NOT like AZ weather.
Just curious..I kinda like the idea of having pucks in my suspension, but will they benefit me at all if I'm just replacing my old stock springs with basic Moogs?
Both. I've seen sets of them on Ebay and Amazon, but the entry says it "doesn't fit your 2004 Liberty". I've found that sometimes that's bull. If I can get dimensions before I actually take off my old ones I can look up exactly what I need and have 'em when I replace the springs.
Does anyone have the dimensions of the rear coil isolators? I'd like to get some of the red poly ones from Energy Suspension to replace my old ones, and their website just gives dimensions of various part/model numbers.
Someday I'm going to find a set of these and make 'em work. I love the look of this wheel. The backspacing is about 4 inches, and the center bore is about 2 mm too small, plus there's that pesky logo on the cap. But I gotta try.
Seems I may have mis-spoken about the Monroe :favorites68:. Just found out that the top & bottom spring plates and the spring itself were original equipment, and it was just the shocks themselves that were previously replaced with Monroes (two different models I might add). The problem with the...
