Thats kinda my point exactly. I'm pretty sure the fluid fill levels are different for the D30A you find in all KJ's compared to a Dana 30 front axle found in Jeep YJ/TJ/XJ/...and the list goes on and on and on... lol.
THATS WHAT SHE SAID!

Cagar Soft 8 wheels are a great combination of performance, quality, and style.
Cragar's Soft 8 wheels feature an 8-hole design. These steel wheels are available in black or silver powdercoated, and chrome plated finishes that are durable and...
is it just me, or should the fillport on that diffy be up higher... If it is a steel diff modeled after the D30A (we'll call it the D30S :D ) then isn't the fill level (bottom of fillhole) higher so that the passenger axletube has some gear lube in it to lubricate the outmost bearing in there...
well, just got everything all buttoned up (also did a front diff fluid D+F) and everything seems to be alright for the most part. Weirdest thing though, after getting everything put back together, there is now a brake noise and rotor vibration coming from the passenger front. I won the first...
I brainstormed and you hit the nail right on the head bigBlue! One of the few times I think i will ever say this, but I was glad my dad is overseas today. Drove his car over to my Grandfather's awesome woodshop/carshack to use his BIG vise and got the CV to *pop* right off! Charging the camera...
Got everything all disassembled and the old CV shaft and intermediate axle. Now me in my infinite wisdom, figured that I would be set with just replacing the intermediate shaft and that the CV would just pop right off the old shaft... WELL... that doesn't look too promising now does it...
soft 8: my take on it is more artistic. The eight is most likely due to the number of holes in the rims, and the "soft" portion of the name probably refers to the design of the rims. The round holes are a whole lot "softer" looking when compared to Cragar D-windowed rims.

i haul my 97 Artic Cat ZRT 600 up to VT in the winter from MA for some riding. Other than that we have a 16' Alumnicraft with a 20hp (it might as well be a dingy) for fishing that I have to tow, seeing as no one else is setup for towing :)
