Okay. Wow, that was more confusing than I thought for just oil...but glad I asked. I think I will stick with conventional just because I don't want anything to happen from the synthetic.
Okay, so that isn't the same as the conventional stuff I typically get for my other cars. Never really gave it a second thought. So would the blend be recommended in an engine that you don't know how it has been maintained in the past?
I've never thought about it before, but is the basic, every day oil that is on the shelves a blended or is a blended oil different? I know full synthetic would say it on the bottle...but is blended the same thing or is it another category?
Well it's good to hear it's one less thing to worry about. My fiance loves her jeep and every weird noise, sound or feeling she gets freaked out about.
Okay, I'll try the same...and as far as I can tell no oil leak/burning.
Do they have the high mileage for the gtx synth blend?
ps...thanks for your help!
I mean first oil change on this jeep that I have done. I am assuming the previous owner did them seeing as how it has 94k miles lol. I have done them on my other cars, just not the Jeep yet.
Would full synthetic cause any problems not knowing what past oils have been used?
You edited before...
I've looked thru a bunch of posts about what oil to use and I'm still confused. This will be my first oil change since getting the Jeep (03 sport) and not sure what they have previously used in it. Some have said they only use synthetic, others say not to on higher mileage engines (this has...
How loud should that rapid clicking be? I noticed it the other day and made me think of this post again. Same symptoms as ~Mark. It was pretty loud...I don't think it happens all the time, but I've heard it several times in the past few months on and off.
perhaps the Driveshaft vibration damper...not that I know what that is...but might have something to do with the driveshaft considering its there when I accelerate.
I have kind of felt/heard this in the past few weeks but this past weekend it was more noticeable. Mostly when accelerating up a hill, steep or gradual, there was a reverberation sound coming from under the floor. I could feel the vibration in the floor and the gas petal and you could feel it...
Okay...Finally got the freakin' rotor off. After about 2 hours my neighbor let me borrow a crow bar and heavier hammer and it eventually got pounded off. The e-brake was just putting so much pressure outward on the rotor it wouldn't let it just slide off. Luckily the other side was easier and...
It is a little rusted, but usually liquid wrench and wd-40 take care of that. This one didn't have any of those clips. Does it make a difference if the E-brake is on or off?
For the life of me, I can't get the rear rotors off. Taking the wheels, brakes, calipers off was simple, but the rotor won't budge. I tried a hammer, pry bar, wd-40...EVERYTHING...and it won't budge. Does anyone have any idea how to get it off?
