What did you do to your jeep today?

Had a pair of Terratura ATs put on the rears, seem to be getting a good reputation locally. https://www.davanti-tyres.com/terratoura-a-t Ordered a pair of new front calipers and hoses, £150 shipped from Germany, £300 in UK, go figure. Also sorted my transfer box cable issue so no longer stuck...

It actually stopped down there with you? It's been biblical here. I've been aquaplaning going up hills.

I was after either the Blue or the Green. It made the search harder but I wasn't prepared to compromise beyond that, it also had to have full leather and heated seats and be a CRD. However had I had a crystal ball I would probably have gone for the V6 petrol as top spec low mileage ones were...

I checked the paperwork and it simply said 'custom remap'.

    Cat stolen

Before you do anything drastic .... if you have the time and the energy, it maybe worth visiting your area scrap merchants. Cats main value is when they have been weighed in, and if it is a local ****** funding a habit that's where it might be. Here in the UK we had legislation passed a couple...

    4WD lever not working

I've tried to put the transfer box back into 2WD from underneath but I can't get the lever to move. I even tied a length of rope to it and gave it a good tug and no go. Can the lever mechanism inside the box seize? are there any inherent problems here?

    4WD lever not working

Getting back on track .... It's not the transfer case linkage that has disengaged, went underneath today armed with bits to do a fix and that end is all fine. So it must be the front. Is this a real pig of a job and what does it involve?

    4WD lever not working

Am I right in understanding that a temporary fix can be done with a zip tie / cable tie (dunno what you call them in the US)

I don't know what the tune was called, it was a stage one, I'd asked for the economy tune and the guy said there was only a couple of bhp in it so he did the stage 1, which is 200 bhp. cost £200 including a few 'extras'. Defo improved fuel economy on a run, a hell of a lot. And acceleration is...

    4WD lever not working

Mine is an export 05 CRD. '5-Spd Automatic 545RFE Transmission' with 'selec trac full time 4wd' is what it says on the build sheet. To be honest I dont know what that means in the grand scheme of things! I have a 5 position lever - 2wd/4PT/4FT/N/4L. If this is the same as your 05 I will crack on...

    4WD lever not working

As per title. We are sub zero here in the UK. I put my KJ in to full time 4WD to drive home from the pub last night. Bit of a thaw today and went to put it back into 2WD and the lever moves but feels like it is not connected to anything. Its too cold and wet to go crawling underneath today to...

    Skinny tyre question

Generally in the UK cutting through is the ticket, although there are exceptions of course. Might not look as cool but when it's only the crows passing judgement who actually cares!

    Skinny tyre question

Hey Y'all, What's the received wisdom on going skinny but taller? On a pheasant shoot at the weekend a gent turned up in a Landrover 90 shod with Hankook M&S 215/80/16's which were a bit useful. The tyre size comparator puts them at 29.5" against 29 standard. I was wondering if these would still...

What did you do to your jeep today?

So I found myself running early for work this morning and I pass a part worn tyre outfit on the way, having 10 mins to spare I pull in to see what they have in 235/65/17 and 235 70/16's. Young matey boy swaggers over to my window all Jack the Lad. "Just wondering what kind of stock you hold...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Was out and about with a friend visiting some of his farmer buddies out in the sticks. First two farms we went to both had abandoned KJ's laying about! Hopefully these will yield some underbody armour mine is missing and hopefully a set of 16"s to swap out my scabby 17"s with.

Could this be a driveshaft issue?

I have been suffering uneven brake wear front right and a noise from the pads/caliper. I replaced the disks, pads and used a new fitting kit, the caliper sliders were freed up and coated with copper crease and moving in and out smoothly. all ok for 6 days, quiet as a lamb. And now it's back...
