Mine would be buying the wrong parts! Most recently was brake pads. I received my new front pads only to find they dont fit. A closer inspection of the paper work, under the tiny little asterisk says it fits Jeeps up to 2002.
I noticed a leak yesterday where the shaft meets the front diff. What part is leaking here and what do i need to do to fix it?
Thanks
P.s I wonder if this is whats causing my Jeep to veer under acceleration and deceleration..?
Hmm...good point. My brakes and rotors are due to be replaced and I have the new parts so ill give it a go.
Still, the excessive play in the steering wheel is what concerns me the most and hints at the steering rack.
Thanks for the replies. I took it for a spin yesterday and noticed it veers under acceleration too, when I hit the pedal around 60km/hr (35mphr I think..)
I also feel a vibration in the steering wheel when doing above 110km/hr (70m/hr).
I inspected the rear control arms and I couldn't see...
When im travelling at a higher speed (say 70km/hr and above) and then take my foot off of the accelerator, my Jeep will exhibit a wobble in the front end.
If you've ever been driving along and a strong gust of wind blows and you feel a push on your vehicle, it feels like that. Or when you...
Took my Jeep into ARB to get my front lockers fixed. It turns out the problem was a blown 30 cent fuse. I wasn't aware of the second fuse panel inside the cabin. I wish I knew about it 2 months ago when I needed it!
Anywho, for those interested, the air lockers draw the power for the compressor...
I have a Safari Snorkel on mine. No issues at all. Im sure the airflow would be fine, too. Just make sure when its installed to have it fully sealed so water doesn't seep into the airbox. Ive been in water up to my windscreen. The regular air intake on the KJ is just above the right hand...
I did about a dozen water crossings last month through the Cape. The only time water came in was when I got bogged in a crossing. It filled up fast! I was in about 3 feet of water for around 60 seconds before I was snatched out, engine running. Some people were putting duct tape over the door...
I hate it when shops do this! I went out and bought an impact wrench after the last time I took my Jeep in for a service. I wasn't able to remove the lug nuts as they were on there so tight. Lucky for me I checked them before going bush. If I had a flat tyre out in the middle of woop woop, there...
Completed my 2 week trek through Cape York and made it to the tip of Australia. The Jeep went ok; it let me down a couple of times, but im sure driver error was also a factor. It didn't help that my front air lockers stopped working the day before the trip. Having a winch was invaluable and I...
Tried to replace the transfer case switch. Pulled the centre console out, found the switch but my socket was about 1mm too small so I couldn't get it. Tried multigrips but no luck.
And now, after putting it all back together, my front air lockers have stopped working. When I press the switch...
Installed the transfer case skid. The nutzerts that came with it were too big for the holes so I had to file out the holes with a metal file and installed them that way.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get the transmission skid on as it didn't come with the required bolts and nutzerts and where...
Has anyone used a snorkel sock on their Jeep to help with keeping dust out?
Ive heard conflicting reports. Im going on a 2 week camping trip starting this weekend and dust will be prevalent. Ill probably just take a spare air filter..
