Well as that title says I have had an idea for some time now and am currently
working on developing it provided there is a customer base for it.
The general idea is this.
A stick on clear vinyl that coats doors, fenders and any other body metal to
protect from light scratching caused...
double check all the under hood and in cabin fuses. Pull each one out and examine it properly. I'm not sure if or where the liberty may use fusible links but you can also research that. You can also try swapping relays around and see if systems start working.
The only other mod I did for towing was replace the squishy soft rear springs. The stock springs cried for help when I put the trailer on them. Sitting about 3/4" off the bump stops. I upgraded to some very heavy duty springs I got from an Antique car dealer.
I have had good luck with aftermarket brake controllers, and they are cheaper. My empire trailer has a good trailer brake setup.
Depending on what you are towing for a camper you might be in for a surprise.
I tow a 75' Empire camper with a load leveling hitch. It pushes the jeep around...
awesome. thanks fella. being a x-ford mechanic I was worried. We had all sorts of problems with pinion angle in newer ford trucks. Even a 1.5" factory lift required a pinion angle shim.
Thanks!!
I was able to source rear springs which game me a good lift in the rear but I'm not happy about the new rear pinion angle. What has everyone else done to correct pinion angle?
Thanks!

**SOLVED** for some reason my aftermarket trailer wiring module kept blowing my fuse. Unhooked trailer module and now works fine. Now to find the short in or around the module....
My front left marker ligts will not light up. I currently have taken the bumper off and and checking the wires for corrosion. If i take the end harness that has the turn/marker and second marker light and move them over to the right side they work fine. So far all the wires are looking fine and...
I hear you Tom0 an an ex-mechanic myself I often weight the cost of paying someone to do it over doing it myself. Depends on how much time and energy I have.
I was just creepin' the Canada section of the site here and found a guy talking about a mod where you relocate the rear lower shock absorber mounts to allow for more suspension movement. However the post didn't specify what to do. So I'm curious if anyone around here knows what this mod is...
Here are a few pics of the damage. At the time of taking the pictures i didn't know about the engine and trans so I didn't get any pics of it. We rolled it back over to get our stuff out but it was on its side with the roof resting against a rock wall.
