Transfer Case Noise??
if you remove the t-case side and pull it up over the yoke, you should be able to pull the other side down and get it out. I had to use a prybar to get mine loose from the front diff, but once I got it loose it came right out. See link below, very helpful...- hectikart

It's a good idea to put something over the hole in the front differential after you remove the drive shaft so crap doesn't get in there and you don't lose fluid.- hectikart

i wouldn't worry about the front if it looks intact...the rear head is really what seems to be problematic. I had to do mine at about 80,000 miles. The link Bob gave you is where I got mine. There's a "how to" on the forum describing the rebuild as well...pretty straightforward though.- hectikart

I think the overall point is that you will stop sooner with ABS then you will slamming the brakes to the floor and locking them up without ABS. That being said, if you're not a crappy driver and don't lock up the brakes...and know what to do when you start to lose traction, you will be able to...- hectikart

So why haven't I pulled my ABS fuse yet?? Definitely agree that it has made drivers worse. The only thing that I would potentially say is a positive of ABS is if you need to break while cornering...but that is kinda just grasping at straws. I can't stand the regular use of GPS either. so just out of curiosity...technically if you are driving in a straight line, you shouldn't have binding issues even on a high traction surface, correct? steering problem!!!
maybe a CV axle...or could have knocked something out of alignment. Check your CV boots for tears, but if everything is rusted up, pretty good indication that it could be your problem. Having issues turning in 2wd, 4wd or both?- hectikart

If you want to do it right then you should do new shocks and coils front and rear. More then likely, the entire suspension is sagging, the front is probably just sagging more. If you just upgrade the front to OME coils, you'll end up with the front a couple inches above the rear instead. To...- hectikart

Don't use POR15. I did mine with it, went on great and looked awesome for about the first month or two. It did fade in the sun which I was expecting because it's not UV resistant, but I didn't mind because the initial finish was super glossy. But after a couple months it's not holding up...- hectikart

What did you do to your jeep today?
Snow!! :banana-mario: got at least a foot already and it's still coming down....awesome surprise when the forecast was only 2-4". once the roads were sufficiently covered, I threw it on 4HI and took the dog for a ride to the park. Great to let her run around in the snow when no one is...- hectikart

Sounds like a t-case problem. The transfer lever cable may have detached or broken. That would explain the lack of tension in the lever. The position sensors can fail as well, or the chain inside the t-case...but the lack of resistance in the lever makes me suspect it is the link between the...- hectikart

Got an OK deal on Grabber AT2s.

Yup! There was actually an article a while back which claimed the Wrangler is actually the greenest vehicle available. As you mentioned the process for making a car like a Prius is awful for the environment...then on top of that, most of the parts cannot be recycled. A jeep on the other hand...- hectikart
