    lift using old parts?

also remember that things don't always go perfectly. do the lift/tires when you have the money and some extra. Who knows what else will be worn and require replacement once you get things apart...not to mention the alignments after. that can take multiple efforts to get right. Last thing you...

2010 jeep liberty sport, first mod!

I agree...I've have ironman shocks/springs on for about 20,000 miles now. Very happy with them. Definitely need a lift, those tires look pretty tight under the front.

    Newby here..

Welcome, congrats on the KJ! First piece of advice...don't waste your money on a brush guard. If you want some protection in the front, go with a steel bumper like the one ARB makes. Your typical tube steel brush guard doesn't offer any protection and will actually do more harm than good in a...

    Wheel Shake After Tire Rotation

Thanks for the ideas. First thing I checked was tire pressure because I had one shop put on the 4 tires because they offered to align it for free...went to my normal place for the spare...and they offer free rotation so I brought it back to them for that at the 5000 mile mark. The first shop...

    Wheel Shake After Tire Rotation

Yes steering wheel shake. I had a similar problem before I got the tires, only more severe. Went to get the tires balanced but they told me balancing would do no good and to replace the tires. So they put on the grabbers, did an alignment and all was good. No shaking/vibes at all. Now after...

    Wheel Shake After Tire Rotation

I put 5 new 245/70r16 general grabber AT2's on my KJ about 2 months ago and just did my first rotation this weekend at 5000 miles. Did the rotation properly (rear tires to the front, one front crossed diagonally to rear, other front to spare, and the spare on the opposite rear. Now on the...

How to upgrade exterior plastics/maybe Rhinolining?

don't use POR15...looked awesome at first, but didn't hold up. doesn't bond to plastic well and basically peels off over time.

    Possible Recall 2002-2007?

Anyone receive anything in the mail about this yet? I called the dealer in town asking if I would get a notification or if I could just bring my Jeep in, and they said I need to wait for the notice. Anyone know when they're supposed to be sent out?

    Possible Recall 2002-2007?

agreed...free hitch, why not. Chrysler didn't help me out when I had to put almost $3000 into my engine at 87,000 miles (1000 miles out of warranty) because of their crappy valve springs.

    I'm back!

If only there was a way to take that 4.0L out and drop it in my KJ...there's not right!? From the research I've done, it looks like it just wont fit, too long of an engine. It's a beautiful dream though...

    I'm back!

yea, we picked it up because she needed something right away, got it for like$1000 less than book value...although we pretty much put that much back into it almost immediately. My wife doesn't like cars...she's always driven trucks and is used to being higher up. And I love the 4.0...

    I'm back!

I'll get some pics of the XJ up soon. It's not much to look at...completely stock, and not 4x4 :whymewhyme: so, it will most likely stay completely stock...don't see much point in modding a 2wd cherokee. My wife is basically using it just to get around town and back and forth to work.

    I'm back!

Sorry to just fall off the face of the earth like I did...just had a very busy few months. Got married, got a new job...got new tires, finally! Life's changes are settling down...so back to Jeep stuff. Ended up going with General Grabber AT2's 245/70r16's. Just couldn't justify the extra...

Wanna Brag? Heres your Chance...Lets talk HP..

so semi-off topic, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread... I wish the KJ had more power at higher speeds. Although I think the low end torque is more valuable, especially for off-road...I'm commuting about 60 miles a day for work now, and I'm really starting to notice the lack of power...

In channel deflectors or the other kind?

I hate wind deflectors... Also, I agree with Tom..bumper sticker is a bad idea. Really any politically offensive bumper sticker. Pretty much an invitation to get keyed, slashed tires, broken windows...people get crazy about that stuff.

What did you do to your jeep today?

disconnected battery, cleaned posts and terminals with baking soda/water and steel wool...jeep hasn't been starting the last couple mornings without some effort under the hood, damn corrosion.

    Strange Rumble

good to know. I just checked my tire pressure and added some to my passenger rear, because it was low...that helped with my wheel shake at 70mph+ still have the 50mph one though...although it may be less noticeable now. It's strange, comes and goes...or maybe I'm just getting used to it.

need to improve mpg!!! i average 13.8 mpg

I checked my mpg the other day and I'm at 16.5, mostly commuting back and forth to work which is about 29 miles highway with no-light traffic, and a mile once I get into the city of heavy traffic. I normally get around 19/20mpg. 21+ for long highway trips. I blame winter blend.

Cant get front drive shaft back in

you shouldn't need to remove anything else...when I did mine getting it back in was the easiest part.

Cant get front drive shaft back in

you need to do the front diff side first...that side compresses. Put that in and push and it will become short enough to get the t-case side in....then align and bolt everything down.
