You want to use regular copper plugs on these engines...NGK works well for me. As for engine oil, use 5W30 in the brand of your choice (everyone has their personal favorite!). One more thing: I personally wouldn't do a trans flush, but just a pan drop and filter change with any brand of ATF+4...- belvedere

Recommend Me Some Fluids
Just an opinion here: I've never liked the idea of spraying brake cleaner in the diff. Some (a small amount, yes, but some) will remain in there when you refill it, and I don't know what the effect on the new gear lube is, so I've always been cautious and avoided it.- belvedere

misfire, tranny question
Start with having the battery tested at a parts store, and cleaning all battery/ground connections. Chrysler products seem to be very sensitive to battery/connection problems. I've seen all kinds of strange symptoms when a battery starts to go.- belvedere

Well, I'm gonna have to disagree with uss2: I don't like Lucas products, and I do like synthetics. I run 75W90 syn in the diffs on ours, and it works great. As for the trans, I like to do a pan drop/filter replacement. It is not difficult, just a little messy. IIRC, there is one pan bolt...- belvedere

If you had said there was Dexcool in the system, I'd say to change it out right away. If it really is conventional green, no hurry. Dexcool (and many Dexclones) contains 2eh, an additive that also happens to be a plasticizer. Remember all the LIM gasket failures on the GM V6 engines? Yep...- belvedere

Heating issues
Sounds like a faulty thermostat to me. As far as the coolant, HOAT will last 5 years, where as conventional green is good for 2. I would not panic about the green coolant. Just change to HOAT/GO5 at your convenience.- belvedere

Transmission fluid and filter change
My usual method is to drop the pan & filter, wait an hour or two, then reassemble things. If you want to let it drain overnight, leave the filter(s) off while it drains.- belvedere
