Degreased and drenched in Trans fluid but the super loud creaking is back after 3 days!!! Pretty sure the creaking is coming from the side of the door stop that is inside the door. Just gotta figure out how to get some lube in there.
The old 2002 hunting Liberty has the squeakiest drivers door you could imagine. Pretty sure every deer within a square mile knows where I park!!!!!:) I've greased and sprayed everything but she keeps screaming. The spray lube does help for a very short time when I spray it into the door stop...
This one sounds like a good bargain for a do-it-yourselfer but not for someone like yourself. It's possible that it could make it 2 years without any major repairs but highly unlikely if it's gonna be your daily driver. It could also nickel and dime ya to death. I keep a 250,000 mile 2002...
I just did the pan seal on an 02 and it was one of the easier ones I've ever done. Went with RTV instead of a gasket. Like a few others have said, check the sensors before you assume it's the pan gasket. Best way is to degrease and clean the heck out of it and pinpoint the leak immediately...
I went through this about 8 months ago with an old leaky 2002. Dropped the pan, changed some fluid and sealed it up perfectly with RTV. Unfortunately, it wasn't the pan that was leaking!!! A sensor above the pan was the culprit.
Just changed the plugs on the old 2002 hunt camp KJ. Electrodes were completely gone and the gap was ginormous!!!!! Amazing she was still running pretty good. Back passenger side plug was oil soaked so I assume it wasn't firing or the rings are shot in that cylinder. Besides guzzling huge...
Rust proofing the interior panels is pretty straight forward but undercoating can be tricky on a used vehicle. The under carriage should be degreased, steam cleaned, wire brushed and completely dry before under coating is applied. A bad under coating job can actually cause rust if the vehicle...
I'm in a nasty salt belt (Michigan) and have always used 3m rustproofing spray cans for interior panels and any brand of undercoating for the under carriage. I always touch-up the undercoating at the end of summer every year. I also use the 3m rustproofing on the bottom door, tailgate and hood...
I'm not up at the hunt camp so I can't look at it. I was just wondering if there is a specific spot where they all tend to leak and if there's a way to fix it without replacing any major components.
The old hunt camp 02 has had a refrigerant leak for a few years now. Previous summers I would just add a can or two of R22 and it would last the whole summer. Now it only lasts a couple days!!! What is the "most likely" culprit??? I think she's on her last leg so I don't want to throw a lot...
Gonna do the old hunt camp 2002 this weekend and I already picked up the copper Autolites. Are these decent or is it important to swap them out for the NGKs?
