    How to: replace a radiator

FYI, so I'm having the same problem with the right radiator part number for the external tranny cooler. I was told I needed part #2482 instead of #2481. I should have mine in tomorrow, so I'll update this if that is indeed the correct #.

    Biggest tire 2.0

I have 235/70R16's on mine stock. I think that's about the biggest you could go without a lift. Might be able to run a 245/70R16 depending on how much your springs have sagged.

coolant smell from heat at startup

I had a similar issue where I have been noticing a slight coolant smell. I believe it was my radiator leaking. I discovered a small leak on the drivers side of the radiator, and am in the process of replacing it. Might want to check it over. As Dave said, heater core would be my first guess...

    So...

Wow, sorry to hear about the health issues man. Get well soon. I passed a teenie tiny little stone and was in agony while it passed, I couldn't imagine what you're going through. Prayers with you to get well soon and no lasting effects.

Replacing radiator - anything else while i'm in there?

that's ok....i just tore mine all apart and had it all put back together only to find out they gave me the wrong radiator (the one without the transmission oil cooler mounts.) i had to take that out and i get to do it all over again...YAY! and the thermostat i bought came with a gasket, fit...

    BF Goodrich - All-Terrain T/A KO

I had BFG's on my Ford Ranger. They were decent tires relatively speaking, but just too dang expensive. Tire Discounters by me has Toyo Open Country AT's 245/75/16 (P-rated) for $149 mounted/balanced/etc, and includes a 4 wheel alignment when you buy a set of 4. Really can't beat that deal...

    Suspension tool kit

I'm trying to remember, but I think the reason I decided to pop the lower BJ was because I couldn't get the clevis back in the lower control arm. I couldn't pry the LCA down far enough to line up the clevis with the bolt holes due to the CV shaft. It was the first and only time I've ever done...

Replacing radiator - anything else while i'm in there?

So doing an oil change today and I noticed what I'm guessing is coolant leaking from the upper driver's side of the radiator. Felt slippery, didn't smell like oil, and then I noticed the coolant reservoir was about an inch and half below the "full cold" line. I haven't noticed how long it's...

    Suspension tool kit

Yes, I know a pickle fork isn't the most optimal tool to use....but when it's what you have...it works. And the tool itself is incredibly useful to have in your collection for a variety of jobs. The only reason you're not "supposed" to use it is you can tear the boot...but if you're careful...

    Suspension tool kit

Really? Could you have just answered the guy's question w/o belittling someone for asking a question? That is definitely my biggest peeve with this site. I've seen more comments by "backyard pro's" with a hard-on to put someone down on this site than I've seen on the entire internet in my...

    I'm strongly considering a Liberty... ???

Yep, same here. I was actually just looking for a 4WD pavement pounder. I liked the Ford Escape that my bro's wife had and thought I'd check around. Couldn't get anything with less than ~70K miles for under $13K around here. I saw my Liberty for sale at a local dealer for $10K and change...

    What should I do?

Pull off the rear tires, remove the calipers, and pull the rotors off. Check to make sure the e-brake shoes are still in place and the friction material is still on them. I had a set that apparently got over-adjusted, and wore the shoes down so far the friction material came off and was...

    What should I do?

First thing I thought of too when reading that...lol Do you know it's the rear diff? To quote tommudd...could be the rear u-joint. :) Also, I've had the rear e-brake cause some noise issues on my Liberty. Just throwing some things out there to think about. Not sure what all you checked.

    biggest tire

I have 235/70R16 on my Jeep, and that's what it came with stock before I even lifted it. Those tires are approximately 28.95" tall and 9.25" wide. A 235/65R16 is nearly identical, at 29.02" tall and again, 9.25" wide. Also to note....Tire Rack lists the 235/65-17 as an optional plus...
