    performance chip woes

Yeah, no worries on that part. Just paid the KJ off and will probably be looking for a DD in a few months, so if something were to happen, I'll have a backup vehicle. :)

    performance chip woes

That's pretty sweet. What tune do you use? Is it all custom? Also, what tuner are you using for your tune? Thanks!

Part # for Auto Shift Knob

    Thanks!

    Tire Opinions

Well, they both have the same Wear/Traction/Temp rating of 500/A/B, so they "should" wear similarly. I'd go for the AT's if you think these tires will ever see any snow.

Part # for Auto Shift Knob

Anyone know of a part # for a shift knob for the auto transmission? Back when I had to fix my gear position tab, I pulled the knob off not even thinking about the fact there were wires going to it, and ripped the wires out of the OD on/off button. Just trying to get that fixed. I can't see...

    Tire Opinions

Toyo Open Country AT's.....they wear nice, have good traction in the rain/snow, and are rather affordable. Toyo also makes an HT, if you feel the AT is too aggressive. I also like the look of the Kuhmo SAT KL61's...but I'm not up to date on their reviews. Another suggestion would be the...

    Low Fuel Light

x2 on that....when my low fuel light comes on, i know i have at least 5 gallons left. heck, i can be on E and still have 3 gallons!! i'm pretty sure my sending unit is off, but since it's integrated into the pump assembly, i'll just deal with it ($600 to replace the whole thing.) only way to...

Oh no.. A Leak.. But from what??

also, check to see if your radiator is leaking on the driver's side. i had what i thought was something leaking from my front diff, only to discover it was actually coolant seeping down the radiator and getting blown all over the lower engine compartment.

Snapped PCV valve... is this a safe fix?

You would probably be better off plugging the hose, and then capping off your broken PCV until you can get it replaced. If you get a leak in your tape job, you will get a fast idle and possible high engine rev, because you now have unrestricted air getting into the intake.

so are carb cleaner and throttle body cleaner the same

Check the labels...from what I've read, modern throttle bodies have a teflon coating on them which carb cleaner may remove. throttle body cleaner is supposed to prevent the removal of that coating. also be sure to use a nylon bristle brush instead of a wire brush, for the same reason.

    Transfer case/ front end noise

Ouch. I've got a noise that's getting worse up front. I only hear it when the brake are applied, and I'm slowed down to the point of nearly stopping. At first I thought it was brake related...kinda that crunchy noise you get when you've got a warped rotor and your caliper moves around in...

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

Where is that sensor? I'm just wondering if I unplugged something and forgot to reconnect it in my haste to get this thing back together (after being apart for a week.) I looked over it again this afternoon and didn't see any loose connectors floating around anywhere....who knows at this...

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

I'm not just talking about the temp gauge...the air coming out of the heater gets hot just fine as well. I see no difference in the Jeep before and after, including MPG's (which actually have increased +1MPG since I've swapped the radiator....could've been the weather.) I guess I was back to...

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

So I was wondering about that, because I know a cold engine will run richer...but I guess what I'm getting at, once the engine comes up to temp, does the t-stat ever close? Like does it actively regulate temperature? My point is, the engine comes up to temp just fine. I don't notice any ill...

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

OK, so have another question about this issue. The day I was planning to change out the t-stat...the CEL goes off. I think cool, maybe there was air somewhere...problem solved. Now, a few days later, it came back on again. There has been a difference in the ambient air temp between the time...

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

I know the gauge on the dash isn't analog, but it does come up to temp and sits right in the middle like before. I don't recall any other sensors that would've been disconnected during the rad. install. I'm pretty much figuring it's the t-stat, unless someone else has any suggestions. Thanks!

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

I will be filing this one away....never had to do this before...but especially on vehicles where you have to drain the entire system just to replace the t-stat...I will definitely be doing this in the future.

    P0128 - Just changed the freakin' T-stat!!!

Love it...after the whole debacle of getting the wrong radiator, being without my Jeep for a whole friggin' week, and finally getting it all back together.....today I get a CEL, P0128. I know what it is...and I can only assume it means the BRAND NEW t-stat I put in is bad. I'm just checking...

Milky sludge in oil filler neck

x2 on the PCV valve being the probable culprit. I never used to have that milky sludge on mine, but two oil changes ago I noticed it. I went ahead and got a PCV valve just to do during my next oil change. When I replaced the old PCV valve, it was so plugged up you couldn't make it rattle...
