    Bulbs - 9007/HB5 and 9145

So my wife's Silverstar Ultras finally had one burn out, lasted longer than the Silverstars I had before but still meh. I've been searching for a suitable replacement as well as for the fog lamps so what are the recommendations from the users here for a set of replacements?

    Power Steering, what to check?

I used Prestone Full Synthetic PS Fluid rated for American cars specifically calls out Jeep on the label. Checked this morning and it was not lower and no puddle so we shall see, it is being monitored but it fired up quietly and so far so good she says. I may just pickup the Timken wheel hubs...

    Power Steering, what to check?

So I checked the PS resevoir and it was almost empty. Took a full bottle of full synthetic fluid the. Did my turns end to end a dozen times. Drove it down the street and all was fine. So odd it was so low as there are no visible leaks or puddles. I’ll monitor it and see, as for the hubs I...

    Power Steering, what to check?

It started last night and I assumed it was because of the cold. By the time we got home put the kids to bed, lunches for tomorrow, nightly routine, I had to go do the tires which were low from the temps. Then it was bed and of course day 1 back to work we woke up groggy and trying to start the...

    Power Steering, what to check?

Last night I thought it may have just been the cold since it was 6 out and negative real feel and the car usually sits in the garage. Started it up to a loud whirring, instantly knew it was the PS. Turn the wheel and it groaned but did so as it normally does. Now when the car is first started...

    P2097...Scan Tools are Fun

The demon is back, this same code has popped twice in the last couple of weeks. It still says Bank 1 but could it be another sensor in the group and not the one I replaced?

    Found hose during oil change

Awesome thanks everyone! I’ll get it fixed this AM. Also Advance Auto is running their Castrol special, 5qts synthetic and a K&N filter for $30.

    Found hose during oil change

Noticed this loose disconnected hose during oil change. Anyone have any ideas or help as to what it is and where it connects. Was unsuccessful in my search but it runs forward from around the oil filter drain area.

    Taillight issue

I fixed this on my wife's Liberty, the metal contact tabs can bend a bit over time and lose their connection. So you end up with lamps that will light sometimes, with a smack, or whatever. The best thing is to remove the lamp (two screws and it pops out) then pull the bulb out, remove said bulb...

New Rotors, New Pads, New Tires, Wheel Shake

This is something I did NOT do. My own fault but I can pop them off quick enough to clean and reinstall. The rotors are Powerstop and I have them on my GLI now, just installed the rear kit and they work great. I also suspect the wheels were not torqued properly as the tire shop (TFT) tends to...

New Rotors, New Pads, New Tires, Wheel Shake

Brakes were seated properly, I'll check the torque because it was done at a shop which means they could have just used an impact gun and wrenched on the tires. I'll check on that and take a peek at other things. Could the calipers not be torqued correctly?

New Rotors, New Pads, New Tires, Wheel Shake

So I've done a complete front brake job new rotors and pads, followed up by new tires with a full balancing and alignment done. What happens now is a wheel shake when braking from highway speeds. I can't figure out what it could be, searching only yields people who have done either tires or...

    Tow Package...

I had the receiver added as part of the recall. I was tempted to get the wiring harness and set it up for towing a small trailer for dump/HD runs for larger items or even mulch pickup. Haven't done that as yet but I wouldn't start towing a camper or something of the like without the other add-ons.

    High power reverse lights

For me it's just so dim it serves no purpose, I'd like it to be at least as bright as the regular brake lamps.

    Lucas synthetic oil

I run either the MOPAR filter or a K&N unit with Castrol Edge (previously Syntec) 5W-30. Just made the switch this past OC to full synthetic which reminds me I need to check the stick and see how it's doing.

Hard "noise" from the rear (Video Inside)

Friend at the dealer quoted me $486 for the part saying it retails for $694?!?! I'll find a decent priced one and slap it on this fall, thankfully the full unit comes with all the bushings and joints already in place so it can bolt right in. Plus the current one has some rusting so it will be...

    High power reverse lights

I need something like this for the 3rd lamp up high, that thing is terribly dim.

Hard "noise" from the rear (Video Inside)

Hey thats the noise I have on ours! BTW awesome video, makes me want to get a cam like this. Mine also started after I changed out the old springs and shocks but kept things OEM spec. I plan on replacing the entire tri-link this fall instead of dealing with taking out and trying to get old...

New Tires on my 07 KJ Limited

So far I love them. The ride is immensely quieter than the Michelin Latitudes and a heck of a lot more confident. The car never felt stable with those on and would roll corners and just seem to soft. It's been a hectic week so today I finally get to wash the car and get the blue off and polish...

New Tires on my 07 KJ Limited

It's funny I saw this post because as of yesterday I've been researching tires for the '05 Limited. Was looking into Dueler or Grabbers but came across the Hankooks and really liked the tread. We currently have Michelin Latitudes on the car but they've always felt ho-hum and were very noisy...
