im not sure. id guess over a period of a few years you might want to change it anyway due to dry rot. just keep check on it. mine went for 8yrs before starting to have many cracks. from now on ill change it every 5 i guess. -

ok i did all the tests and it all pointed back to a bad/remanned alt. i took it back to the store and they put it on their tester. it failed instantly. they got another one and it passed. its on the jeep now and all is well. the battery is charging and hits 13.something to 14 something depending...- flair1111

thanks for all the help. it is a gas 3.7 2006. and yes i meant a continuity test. it wasnt showing ohms or anything, just gave a beep if it was good. and i meant "when i cranked it i got less" i mean the voltage on the battery was showing less volts than before i cranked the engine. it didnt...- flair1111

Loose hose help!!!
tie it up high. i put an extension hose on mine and ran it up through the gas filler hose area to get more height. i dont go into deep deep water, but its good peace of mind.- flair1111

one thing i need to mention, was a few days ago before i changed the parts out i noticed a burning smell. i assumed it was the belt getting hot due to a bad pulley on the alt. could this smell have been wires burning somewhere, and now its open causing the p0622 code? now all the parts are new...- flair1111

yep the belt had many small breaks in the ribs on the underside. i knew it was about time, so i just decided to get new tensioner to so i wouldnt have to do the job all over later.- flair1111
