SWMBO got herself the Liberty today...pics included

The Escape I got for my wife less than a year ago has already surpassed the mileage on that KJ! I bet that KJ was really taken care of. Edit: Here's a list of the "common" things that go wrong with the KJ As reported already 2005+ MY's have a known window regulator problem resulting in...

    Speaker Question

Wow.. That's interesting. Did the tweeters become standard after a certain model year? Oh well - the best way to hear for noise from the tweeter is to lean forward still.

Very nice KJ indeed. I'm impressed that the mileage was so low.

    Speaker Question

Lean forward while you are driving and you should hear sound coming from the front dash. The tweeters were only installed with the Infinity system though so if you don't have that, than there is no tweeter installed in the dash.

    New Battery

Oh. I let my Jeep sit all week and it still started right up. That poor new generation optima battery. It's so little and "defective." Now back to seafoaming my headlights thank you very much.

    New Battery

I just hit two years on my new generation Optima. No hiccups yet. Heck it's even the "weak" group 25 battery that people don't like.

Has anyone else's Jeep started itself? Bizarre.

Sorry - this is the first incident I have ever read about on this site and LOST and I've been browsing Liberty forums for a couple years. This does not sound normal at all.

    KJ Towing Thoughts

Back on Topic: The Manual Trans KJ is rated for 3500 pounds max so you fall below that threshold. Question - what type of trailer brake system does your horse trailer have? There are two common types of trailer brake systems. The first is Surge Brakes . This is what you find...

    Getting a replacement part

The grille is so easy to replace. It's only held in place with a couple screws on the top and some plastic tabs on the bottom Just keep checking junk yards, ebay and other places until you find one. I had a spare for my 2002 but sold it off last year or so. Have a cold one and spend...

    3.7 Engine Noise

My 3.7 is exactly the oposite of TBJ's. My engine is supurbly quiet at startup. Then after 1 minute of running engine (after the oil is thined out a tad) the lifters and rockers make all kinds of racket. It's been like since the day I bought it back in 2003... I've always used Mobil1 5W30...

Anybody tried one of these to save warmup time?

I found that just getting into the Jeep, starting it and driving off a few seconds later lets the KJ warm up fast and save gas by not idling for 15 minutes. :)

rear window probs :( any help? please????/

I thought the Steiger system was for window regulators only? Or do they have a system to fix the popper mechanism on the flipper glass on the back side of the KJ as well? As mentioned though - Chrysler had issues with the latch system for the flipper glass back in 2004. A trip to the...

Thinking of getting that TW CV front driveshaft?

If the metal was thin enough, the shaft still would have torn through. Just think of the acceleration that drive shaft had when it let go.
