Changes to A/C, heater control unit

More info Been doing some more experimenting. In this application, an '05 heater/A/C control is mounted in an '04 Liberty. Everything works as advertised, EXCEPT, I just discovered the A/C is selectable in only 3 modes (recirc., dash, and dash/floor). For the other 3 (floor only...

    MAG Light mounting

An excellent thought. For those who already have black, a little reflective tape in your favorite color might also add night time visability.

    ahhh crap.....

Brake job When the time comes.... It never hurts to have your rotors resurfaced -- keeps everything in tip top shape. Should cost about $6 or $7each -- shop around first. Having said that, I don't touch the rotors unless they're warped. I've even slapped new pads on scored rotors and had no...

    EVIC on the way

Harness If your tape gets knocked off the ends, no problem: you can identify the wires with a continuity test if you have a multi-meter. Your idea to toss a couple of extra wires in the harness is a good one -- never know when some future project might require them! :-k

Changes to A/C, heater control unit

As many know, the Liberty has a new A/C - heater control panel for '05. I think it's a great improvement; there is a separate A/C switch that enables you to use -- or not use -- air for any vent combination. Additionally, the selector knob is simplified and presented in a more logical fashon...

    MAG Light mounting

Two things to consider before you do that. One of my kids got in an accident in his Liberty (he has the seat mount 4 cell). The collision knocked the flashlight out of the spring steel brackets (and I thought they had a tight grip). If you mount yours high, you might have two heavy...

    Better Gas Milage???

Acetone I would be very cautious. Acetone is a lot more volitile than gas and can be corrosive (as he mentioned). If you try it, be careful handling it and make sure it doesn't get on your paint. I'm a little suspicious of his Neon mileage drop after the acetone. 30MPG at 50 mph is below...

    Jeep Liberty Concept Drawings

Great post, thanks. I'm amazed how close they were to the actual design 4 years ahead of production!

e-bay. Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=20760&item=4368838615&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Others come along too. Some people have gotten them from Home Depot (about $5 ? plastic set), but my store didn't carry them. I ended up paying about $8 including shipping...

    EVIC Questions

A man after my own heart. Good luck bidding! =D> About 50 feet of copper wire (makes 12' harness) will be plenty for slack where you need it. Electricians tape to wrap your harness. Talcom powder for easing your harness feed. Soldering equipment. Patience. Don't rush it; you don't have to...

LSD for KJ -- any suggestions

Trac-Lok Mine also came with the open differrential. Picked up an OEM Trac-Lok from one of the forums from someone who was upgrading to a locker. I paid to have it installed -- thought the set-up would be tricky. The open diff. came out and this dropped right in -- easy if yo know what...

    Navigation Orientation

The best way to navigate is to have the map oriented so that the map and your eyeball are looking ahead at the same thing. It can be confusing to see yourself going straight ahead while the map shows you going sideways or backwards. The north up feature is good when you're studying the map but...

    RB1 Address Book Question

So far I have no folders. Addresses stay fine, though. You might try eliminating your temporaary folder and see if your addresses become more permanent! It definitely takes a little practice to master all the ins and outs of the features. If you feel like experimenting, try listening to...

    Convential Oil, who uses what?

Back in those days, synthetic oil was quite expensive rippedhand.gif , real estate was a LOT cheaper (biggrin), and the word "dude" mj.gif hadn't yet been invented. bow.gif An out house isn't a bad start -- gives you something to add to! \:D/
