    Yet another Skid Question

They all mount the same way, stiffners are on the inside so they all are about the same. You can get a full set of Mopars for the price of 1 aftermarket one. Wheel alot in rocks, etc, get the aftremarket, otherwise the Mopars work fine.

Have money to spend need opinions?

If you wheel the Mopar rails are junk. Sliders are the way to go. My Flowmaster series 40 delta installed and tip was $120. The Flowmaster and Magnaflow are heavier built and will take a licking if smacked, unlike the stocker. The original piping is the same size and construction as the...

    Lockable Storage?

I bet a Tuffy or some other company's Wrangler box will fit in the back. The Hi lift goes under the seat.

    Rock Krawler 15's

Steel wheels are thinner materialwise (cross-sectional web) so they have a little larger ID than a cast aluminum wheel. I have heard that the M/T Classic also will work, but I haven't tried one.

    Revo info

I'd use the 245/70X16 on the KJ.The rating number you mention tell you the speed rating of the tire. For a Ranger the load rating also is more important if you really use your rig as a truck. Loads, towing, etc. The C rated tire is the minimum needed if you load your rig any, and the bare...

Dead Battery, New Lights x4, Shaky Engine, Grr!

The reason you may be having engine problems among other things is that you have the CRD. That's a fly by wire system that constantly monitors everything including your lights. You add lights without changing the program and the ECM thinks something is wrong and goes into limp mode or whatever...

Anyone have a pic of a Rusty's lift with stock tires?

A lift is a lift, any rig 2 -2.5 inches in the air will look the same. Lots of pics on this and other KJ sites with stock and 245/70 tires which are the same diameter and therfore look the same.

Installing a Baby car seat in my Liberty?

Many towns have public employees that were trained in properly setup car seats. They many times have days you can come in and have a seat installed or checked. My town newsletter has all this info. Usually it's a few firefighters and officers that get the training, one of the ones in my town...

my torque converter is overheated. help please

If they ever find a mechanical failure in a transmission or oil cooled engine such as a diesel, they most also change the cooler involved. The passages in the cooler are small enough to contain a large amount of material that won't flush out, but can over time return back into the system to...

    Stock Tire (Wrangler) question

I went with Nokian Vatiivas. Bridgestone Revos, Goodyear Silent Armors and others have been well received. Took me a little over 20,000 to take out 2 of mine. Yes, indeed they are worthless junk compared to the Nokians I put on. I went with 245/70X16 and they are a good fit, no rubbing and fill...

    Why I hate..

Dude, Doesn't take much to get under you bonnet. The Jeep Liberty if you look at the reports has been a very reliable vehicle over it's history. Cold moaning of the rear brakes while backing has been an intermittent problem. They fixed your reflash problem with a like unit, you had driven the...

    Help Needed Picking New Tires

I put 245/70 Nokian Vatiivas on my Lib, Finnish built tires. Figured they would know something about snow, ice and unimproved roads. They have a 50,000 mile warranty like the other high end tires, but I only paid $110 mounted and balanced per wheel. Quiet, huge difference in traction over the...

Has anybody heard of Dean tires?

Les Schwab carries them in the west. I see a lot of them on contractor's trucks. I've been told they are made by Hercules, like many of the Les Schwab tires.

    Standing on your KJ

I'm 230 and found myself off road in a tight spot that required me to go through the sunroof, than down the hood/right fender to get to the front of the rig. Did put a some slight scratches from something in my shoes in the paint. No real problems, it's a Jeep.

New Frankenlift Need Wheels To Complement

If you can afford the change in mpg (about 2-3 mpg) the taller tires work, less change if you run something with a tread pattern like the Brigestone Revos. You'll lose some power in everyday driving. You can also just go wider and stay the same diameter like a 245/70 or similar diameter/wider...
