Now that I’m looking at it I think the first measurement the tech takes is incorrect. He measures from the bottom of the red metal and where marlin drew the top line is actually on top of the piece of metal and below the greyish thing. Apologies for my total lack of proper terminology lol...
Yeah man he was almost too fast sending the extra ones. I had moved in the meantime and have a new address work up to a message saying it was being overnighted. Messaged him quickly back and he caught it in time and sure enough it was here first thing this morning. Excellent customer service...
This is a video of the tech measuring it. I believe marlin meant the first measurement he takes from under which measures around 3.5. Kinda strange he said it should be four which is why I’m hoping to get someone else to measure theirs.
All good I kinda figured what ya meant. if ya get a chance to measure it’s actually from the under side of the housing to the tip of the stud marlin says should be four inches. No sweat Tho.
kinda strange he sent me the same ones we already had. Guess I got some spares, the whole situation is kind of strange tho. He seemed to think from the measurements I took that they were wrong and then sent the same ones. Someone else commented that all the ball joints they use are the same size...
I told every place I have the od of .625 the id of .470 and the length of 1.825. Most places didn’t even seem to have an ability to plug those numbers in.
What about the stainless steel sleeve? I’ve seen you get a bit fired up about said sleeve on this forum but I’ve gone to numerous hardware stores and called several specialty fastener shops in my area and have yet had luck finding them. One shop said they’d get back to me with a lead time. I...
Thanks for the replies, jba sent me a pic showing how to measure the ball joint and apparently it’s the wrong size so they sent a new one out this morning.
I sent video Of the measurement of the ball joint from the support to the tip and I guess somehow it’s the wrong size. They shipped the correct one this morning. Yikes, solid customer service at least!
I’m in the process of having my 2011 kk lifted with ome coil springs and bilstein shocks. The back 660 shocks I’ve read in a few places need hardware that’s not included. I found this list on here, is all of this needed or just the metal sleeves? I read on a post that the sleeves are required...
I spoke to marlin and he asked me if it measured 4inchs from the bottom of the support to the end of the bolt. He included this diagram. Said if it doesn’t it’s prob the wrong ones and he’ll need to ship me new ones. We measured and it def seems off but mine looks very similar to other pics I’ve...
