    side window wiper

I live where we get snow and ice. dropping the window to remove some of that after scraping usually clears whatever i miss. and what ever accumulates as i drive (warm window, cold snow). the latter of those is usually only a problem driving in the city, which is where you need the most side vision.

    Muffler Time

I "think" mine is the original exhaust, which is almost perfect. it's quiet when cruising, but has a little rumble when accelerating. its getting pretty rusty at the seams, so i will be in the market for at least a muffler fairly soon. does anyone know if the walker still retains that rumble...

    side window wiper

on almost every vehicle i have owned over the years, the side windows would "squeegee" themselves if you simply rolled them down, and back up again. none of the side windows on this one will do that. i don't know if that is a design deficit, or if mine are worn completely out, missing a part...

    Jeep wheel interchange

has anyone made a list of what stock Jeep wheels will fit on a kj? as in ones from a tj, jk, etc.? i know there are 2 different 5 lug bolt hole patterns. but I'm certain other Jeep vehicle wheels will fit. I really do not want some flashy chrome or solid black aftermarket wheels. I am basically...

    transfer case noise

oh, one more question, can I drive this with the drive shaft removed? its the only vehicle I have at this point that runs and is safe to drive.

    transfer case noise

ok, I got a chance to crawl under it, and sure enough, the boot is torn. so I assume that means that the joint is dry, which is why it sounds like the devil being tortured to death? the right front shaft boots are fine. but R&R the driveshaft looks like a lot more than a 30 minute job.

    transfer case noise

the tires are some off brand (PROVIDER HT) tires, and i knew they were street tires. that being said, they have good sipping, and have 9/32" on 2 of them, and 8/32 on the other 2. no, i really have not looked at them. that would have been good to know before the snow hit us. as now i will have...

    transfer case noise

Today was the first "real" snow day here, meaning that the snow actually accumulated on the roads enough to make them a slippery mess. i turned on to one of our two lane highways (55 MPH) speed limit, and by the time i got up to 35mph, i had gone sideways 6 times. so i slipped the transfer case...

    Tri-Link - Common undercarriage rattles?

so the "Jeep balls" are there to reduce driveshaft vibrations, right? i think that was what they said about a similar item on a Cadillac my dad used to have. and about the sway bars, i am not a serious off roader, but i have looked thru a few off roader type magazines. serious guys remove sway...

    coolant tank

I HAVE had it off, i tried to clean the tank insides using radiator cleaner, Dawn dish soap, and hot water. there really isn't much of anything to see under there.

    Tri-Link - Common undercarriage rattles?

JEEP balls??? do you mean the 2 huge roller looking things on the gearcase by the driveshaft?

    Tri-Link - Common undercarriage rattles?

yep, shock mounts were what i was expecting, but they all seemed ok. and yes, it does have a rear sway bar, and they are ok too. what is the big "boomerang" thing that holds the rear axle in place? the connections on that look pretty crusty. oh, and the lower rear control arms are new. they...

    Tri-Link - Common undercarriage rattles?

my '05 liberty has a rattle underneath it in the rear axle area. when i fold the seats down, it REALLY gets loud. is there any common places this happens? i do not think its in the exhaust pipes, as it happens way to much. and what seems odd to me is it does not get louder with the size of the...

    coolant tank

ok, mine is missing the one coming from the radiator cap. the one that is on the top that "looks" like it goes (or at least COULD go) to the "clean" side actually goes into the dirty side.

    coolant tank

well, on my coolant tank there is a large hose on the bottom of the tank, and a small hose on the top that goes to the top of the radiator. there is no hose that goes to the clean side. nor is there a fitting for a hose.

    coolant tank

well, last night i took the hose (that goes from the rad to the tank) off from the radiator and poured antifreeze into the tank. it goes into the "dirty" side of the tank. so i really have no idea why the "clean" side of the tank is even there.
