    Squeak that won't go away

Auberon, sorry for the late post. The bushing assembly you're talking about is new on my Jeep. I replaced it not too long ago. I don't think that's the problem. I put 400 miles on my Jeep this past weekend and it hasn't changed a bit. I don't think it's anything serious. It's just an...

    JK Owners

To all those JK owners out there. I'm seriously thinking about trading my 2003 KJ in for a 2010 JK. I'm trying to get an idea of what I should pay. If you have a JK, can you please give me an idea of what you bought it for? Could you post what trim level you have, what the sticker price was...

    Squeak that won't go away

It's interesting that you mention the clevis to LCA bushing. Last summer I bought two of them because I thought they were worn. The bolt wasn't centered in the bushing. It sat kinda low. I replaced the bushing on the driver's side and it sits the same as the old one did. Therefore, I never...

    Squeak that won't go away

Took the front ds out and drove it around the block. Still there. That's been eliminated. Ugh.

    Squeak that won't go away

That's my next thought. When I crawled under there and checked it, I didn't notice any rotational slack or play. That doesn't mean that's not the culprit though.

    Squeak that won't go away

The reason I changed the front wheel bearing assemblies is because of this noise. Consequently, I looked the brakes over good when reassembling everything. Nothing looked out of the norm. The noise also doesn't go away when you apply the brakes. :( That would be a simple fix. It squeaks...

    Squeak that won't go away

Hi everyone, I've got this squeak/chirping sound somewhere in my Jeep that I just can't seem to locate. Here are the symptoms... It's only audible with the windows up, all the accessories off, and under 35mph. Above 35mph, it goes away. It doesn't appear to be rythmic, or in relation to...

    3.7L engine....interesting read

That's also why there was a TSB for the valves/locks. They couldn't leave a good engine alone. http://home.comcast.net/~merchjo/jeep/jeeptsb-page-1.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~merchjo/jeep/jeeptsb-page-2.jpg

    CV or Wheel Bearing

I have something very similar going on with my '03 with 87,000 miles on it. I have this slight chirping that I can only hear with the windows up, and everything turned off(radio, heater, etc.). It appears to completely go away between 25-30 mph. I've been trying to pin point where the...

    Sigh Electrical

Frist thing I would do it look at the C1, C2, and C3 connectors attached to the back of the BCM. They're located just above the driver's kick panel. Virtually every wire in the KJ goes through these connectors. It's possible that one of them is loose. They bolt to the BCM. Also check out the...

    Installing a sunroof?

Just fyi. The roofs are different between a KJ with a factory sunroof, and one without. A KJ without a factory sunroof jas ribs that extend father forward than a KJ with a factory sunroof. The area around the factory sunroof is flat. This is comparing our '03(no sunroof) and our '06(factory...

Rear tailgate glass self opens !!

Update. We took our '06 in for this issue and the flip-up glass release switch was corrodid and cracked. Everytime it got wet it shorted out and pop the flip glass. It was a $3 part.

    CB Mounted Today!

Just fyi. In some states you could be ticketed for obstructing the drivers view because of where you've mounted it. Nice clean looking install though. One of the more professional looking jobs I've seen. Great job.

I'm guessing between 350-400cfm. Why do you ask?

    Corroded Rim Help Please

I think what you'll find is that the cost to professionally refinish them out weighs the cost of buying a set of used rims in decent condition, or new steel rims. Your best bet is to refinish them yourself.

'03 KJ Recall Info for CT, DE, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MD, MI, OH, PA, etc.

Here's a thought for debate. What if your vehicle is involved in the recall and you don't have the upper ball joints replaced under the recall. Then, you get into an accident because your upper ball joint fails. Can you be held liable for your negligence? You knowing ignored the recall.

'03 KJ Recall Info for CT, DE, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MD, MI, OH, PA, etc.

The build date on my '03 is 11/02 and according to the Jeep website, nothing. FWIW Also, my '03 was originally sold in Mass.

'03 KJ Recall Info for CT, DE, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MD, MI, OH, PA, etc.

I agree with TBJ. I think it's rediculous to recall ball joints on a vehicle like my '03 KJ with 86,000 on it. They are a normal wear and tear part, and they are expected to go bad at some point. Perhaps they should have set a certain milage limitation on them. I think what is really messed...
