The cloth seats in my '05 Rene are my biggest pet peeve with the Jeep. I can't believe that by 2005 Chrysler couldn't have come up with a fabric that doesn't get stained by water! We shouldn't have to purchase seat covers to protect the seats from water. AARRGGHH! Sorry, just ranting. I...
I think an 18-22 foot travel trailer may be a handful regardless of the weight. The weight won't be as much of an issue as the handling will be in any type of wind. With the short wheelbase of the Liberty, any thing more than a breeze will have you changing lanes. I had some handling problems...
I agree with your procedure 100%. I follow the same procedure on my personal vehicles, except for less expensive impact and torque wrenches. I always torque them down once, and then go back again later to recheck, usually after going in to clean up. I don't know why, but I always ask myself...
That is one of my pet peeves. That's why whenever I have tire work done, the first thing i do when I get home is to loosen the lugs and retorque them to OEM spec. There's nothing worse than having a flat tire, and not being able to loosen the lug nuts. Good Luck with Monro.

I just looked in my garage and all three brands that I have are 5.28 qt jugs. They are from Castrol, Motorcraft, and Valvoline. If anything, I thought they would try to sneak say a 4.9 qt jug past us.

Hopefully this question will not stir up a hornets nest. It seems like most oil now comes in the large jugs. Why aren't these jugs 5.0 quarts instead of 5.3 quarts? It doesn't make sense to me. Every vehicle I have takes 5.0 quarts and they warn not to overfill the crankcase. All my...
Before you sand it, make sure that you use a paint prep cleaner to remove any silicone that is used in just about all bumper dressings/waxes. Silicone is a painter's worst enemy. You will never see any silicone based products in a body shop. Hope this helps.

I can only answer the "tire portion" of your question. I got these about 5,000 miles ago and absolutely love them. They are great on the highway and should be pretty capable for some off-road work.

Seems like all automotive batteries are a crapshoot. I had a new 1991 Taurus SHO that the original battery lasted 13 months. I have a battery now in my 1974 TVR, that was purchased in 1994. The car sits 95% of the time including the winter. It has only had to be recharged twice in all that...
Robsama,
I actually went direct a few years back after problems with my old agent. At the time I had three cars and a car trailer on my policy. The trailer was only $85 a year, primarily in case it got stolen. What I didn't know (and wasn't told), was that it was considered another vehicle...
I've also found in the past that you constantly have to keep asking your agent to find ways to lower your costs. You would think that would be their job. When you tell them that you are thinking of moving to another company, they always seem to be able to come up with some savings. I can't...
Thanks for the info guys. I own all my cars outright, so that isn't an issue. It's just that I've been laid off for a year. I called the insurance company, and to take the collision off the wife's 300M would only save $100 per year. For that kind of savings, it's not worth the risk. I guess...
Matt,
I'm glad to see that you aren't leaving. I am one of those who totally disagree with what you did. That doesn't mean that I want you to leave. My sons occasionally have done things that I disagreed with, but that doesn't mean that I don't love them. Look upon our rants as you would...
I have an off topic question for you guys. What value does an insurance company use to determine the value of your vehicle.....NADA....Kelly Blue Book? Also, if they use one of those, do they go by trade-in value, private party value, retail (dealer)? The reason I am asking is that I'm...
