This is for the KK but should be similar for you if you have the 42RLE. If you hit the transmission pan with a temperature gun, you can calculate what the level should be. There is some wiggle room around the line where you can still be fine.- lfhoward

Since Traction Control is based on differences in wheel speed, I would be trying to read the wheel speed sensor data from all four wheels. Going straight, all four should be the same. Turning left, the right side tires will spin slightly faster. If a wheel speed sensor is reading out of sync...- lfhoward

Liberty Jet 2012 Starting Issue, please help
On my 07 Commander it was the actuator wire going to the starter. It was basically a slide-on to the metal tab type of connector (spade connector?). The metal tab was on the starter, and the wire connector was yellow. The connection point became rusty, so there was nothing when I tried to start...- lfhoward

Mystery Wheel Speed Sensors
That is a KK sensor. I replaced one of mine earlier this summer. -

I have an auxiliary transmission cooler on the front of my radiator that I added because I tow a lot. I can say that with the cooler, I see 125°F on the interstate highway (145 when towing), 165°F in mixed driving (185 when towing), and sometimes 220°F climbing a mountain on a forest road on a...- lfhoward

KK Tranny
No, unfortunately. The KK has a VLP (variable line pressure) feature in the transmission that the earlier 42RLE’s didn’t have. Thus, it has extra electrical connectors on it and probably isn’t backwards compatible. Look for a non-VLP 42RLE from before 2006 if I remember correctly. Hope this helps.- lfhoward

New tie rods on, aligned, and new rear shocks on. Wallet lighter. The clunk in the back that I thought was the shocks is still there! 2012 Jeep Liberty Limited (Jet?)
The sky slider panoramic sunroof is canvas. I would avoid one with that feature because people say it’s loud on the highway, it leaks, and when it jams and breaks you can’t get replacement parts to fix it. The fuse box on the KK is called the TIPM or totally integrated power module. It is half fuse box and half body control module, all in one. For that reason, it does have to be programmed to your VIN. You might get lucky at the junkyard if installing one from a KK with exactly the same options...- lfhoward
