No oil cooler for the engine, although the radiator contains a transmission oil cooler. Underneath the front bumper there is a small power steering oil cooler.
Yes, I think KJ's were 19" from the center of the wheel to the fender flare in the front end. That means your springs are sagged 1-3/4"! Whoa.
You'll need a spring replacement to regain height and functionality. It would be best to replace the shocks at the same time, as old shocks run on...
Not today, but on Saturday I joined Jon from Dirt Road Therapy on a trail ride through the Bald Eagle State Forest in northern PA. It was a blast! Last week I got new tires on the Liberty so traction in the snow was as good as it gets. We aired down to about 15 pounds and it gave us enough...
New BFG KO2’s and alignment completed. Also replaced the rear bump stops and spring isolators which were utterly trashed. New hockey pucks are in as well!
I can hear engine noises and wind noise again, these tires are so quiet! Nice. :D
So glad the VLP transmission is backwards compatible for you. It wouldn't work the other way around (non-VLP in my 2008 for example). I have a pre-owned VLP unit sitting in my garage waiting for the day my original unit decides it's through. 233,000 miles currently. How many miles are on yours?
5 quarts is correct. Perhaps it appears low because the engine was running or was recently running when you measured the level. The level should be checked after the Jeep has sat for at least 5 minutes, which allows some oil that's up in the engine to drip back into the pan. Also, it could...
The transfer switch allows the furnace circuit to be powered either by the grid or by a generator/battery & inverter. Flipping the switch allows the furnace to get 120 volt power from an alternate source. We have a natural gas fired steam boiler and radiators, so the electricity needed is only...
A 4” block of wood cut from a 6x6 beam makes the factory jack a lot more capable. Since my Jeep is 4” lifted the factory jack doesn’t know the difference.
My Jeep went into the shop this afternoon for rear suspension work and tires. I’ll be without my 4x4 for the storm. I made that appointment before the weather was forecast so oh well. I have food, water, batteries charged up (and a transfer switch for the furnace power) in case electricity goes...
Cheering you on with the transmission swap. Hoping everything goes according to plan. At least you can work inside a garage. Outdoors will be a little wintery this weekend. Maybe it will be quick enough that you can throw the plow on and make some money on Monday.
I think they are here somewhere:

I have an appointment at a local 4x4 shop to install "new" tires, do some rear suspension clean-up (new bump stops, spring isos, etc. to replace the trashed ones), and align it on Monday.
The tires are "new" because I bought 8 matching new BFG KO2's during an insane sale at a local tire shop...
I had to cut about an inch or two off the heater core hoses because they were stuck so bad I couldn’t get them off. The hoses are long enough so that if they lose a couple of inches you can still plug them in.
It depends. Before I got the aux mechanical fan for the tow package, I think it was about 200-210 like you in the city. Now with the aux cooling I am closer to 186 in the city. I have seen as low as 125 cruising down the interstate in top gear.
EDIT: sorry the above was for transmission...
